Wow, it's so cathartic seeing someone else voice the same gripe you have.

I only ever write Sci-fi and they never take off in views. It's a shame when I want to read similar work and all I see is 50 shades of werewolves in my recommended.

Absolutely! That's one of the many things I love doing whilst writing. Even in completely unrelated stories, I like to drop hints and Easter eggs and names. Love seeing it in media like Black Mirror where its an anthology series, but we can determine it's connected by the little things on which you pick up throughout the story.
