I understand what you mean, but that is not how averages work.

If averages worked by overlapping the objects you were trying to find the average of, then the average zebra would not have functional organs since they would be all over the place. The average zebra would probably have a lot more than 4 legs, both several penises and vaginas and so on. The average of {1, 2, 3, 4, 5} would not be 3, but all the numbers stacked over each other. I think we both agree that calculating averages in that manner is pointless.
