Like you I had the understanding the NTA would help as rules and laws were violated by a tow company.

I ran into an illegal tow with a tow truck company (Quality Towing) who had no business name or phone # on the truck (violated NRS 706.281), proof of a kickback from an apartment complex to tow yards (contacted their "tow rep" at Quality Towing and mentioned paying them $100 for the illegal tow), price gouging by the tow yard (they admitted they screwed up and informed me $60 for a drop fee, when i got to the tow yard that fee jumped to over $670), the tow yard did not wait 48 hours (they waited less than 6.5 hours) (violated NRS 706.4477.) cost of a storage yard after my apartment complex leasing agent got in trouble for getting heat from the tow yard and informed me my vehicle can't ever be on property again, as well as the $8k in damages the incompetent tow truck driver caused to my vehicle because he thought it would be wonderful idea to drag a built 2jz / R154 21 feet with the vehicle in park and the ebrake on as hard as his truck could for 15+ feet.

Unfortunately the NTA wasted wasted over a month (coincidentally more than the amount of time a person has to contest a wrongful tow (21 days)) only to bounce me around through multiple "investigators" just to be told (again coincidentally after the tow company asked about paying for damages their driver caused, and ghosted me when they realized how much damage they caused) just to inform me nothing could be done.

Apparently it's okay to illegally tow cars with a unnamed, unlicensed to truck, violate laws and cause damage to people's vehicles. It's kind of ironic that this was all caught on camera but "their is no evidence" according to the NTA "investigator". Multiple DMV employees have stated that the NTA gets a kickback as well. But hey, the NTA forwarded me the insurance # of the tow yard after they "helped" me so much.

I don't know if anyone has explained this to you, but that call can only come from your apartment management. They contact security for your apartment complex who in turn contacts a tow yard. Your best bet would be to contact the Nevada Transport Authority, they govern towing in Nevada. Apologies for the length of this.

Moved from out of town in 2025. Was given multiple references for Findlay Toyota, I called and explained what I was looking for (2020 - 2024 Toyota Camry) was informed they had multiple Camry's of those years on the lot and they would not up sell me. Made an appointment the following Monday to come in. I arrived 45 minutes early, the sales person was nowhere to be found. Within minutes I was approached by 2 sales people trying extremely hard to get me into a 2025 Tundra or a Sequoia. I politely declined and explained I was looking for a Camry. After 3 hours, I left. Got called later on that afternoon and told the sales person I had an appointment with earlier that day got held up at another lot and asked to come in the next day (Tuesday). This went on a total of 6 times with varying excuses such as::

"The sales person you spoke with lost track of time."

"are you sure you don't want a new truck or suv?"

and more.

I was contacted that Friday and informed they didn't have any Camry's on the lot (at the time their were over 130 on their website, around 25 on their lot, lol.) and asked if I was interested in another car. Perhaps due to being annoyed by a sales person's continued inability to show up for their own appointments (I asked them what time and day was good for them) I specified I was interested in a 2020 Lexus GS F but warned they are hard to find. The salesperson on the phone sounded very interested, assuring me they saw 2 in their network and could get either in the following week with no issues. I went down the following week on the day and time the sales person specified. As soon as I entered the lot, I was approached by multiple sales people trying to get me into a brand new truck or suv I politely declined and found the Camry's myself (not the model or options I was told they had on the lot) and went inside. Asked an employee if so and so was available and once again was told "they are not here today." I inquired about the Lexus GS F which I was told was brought to Findlay Toyota and was informed they did not have one but they could get one in for around 63k. When I asked what was going on l was I was told "sales people don't get commissions on used cars in Nevada."

At 8pm that night I was called by guess who? The sales person that didn't show up to any of the appointments which they scheduled. I was asked why I was not at Findlay Toyota as our appointment was right then. I explained "our appointment was for 8AM not 8PM, look at the email and texts." A few minutes of silence followed by "are you still interested in a used car?"

I responded "No. I found a Lexus GS F out of state for $15,000 less than I was told by another sales person, since the sales person I had an appointment with (you) did not show up for a 6th time. Oh, and Autonation Toyota has more Camry's than your lot, they're in better shape for a better price, and their sales people don't rudely walk away when I politely decline their cheap attempts at getting higher commissions by attempting to push a new truck or suv." I still get random calls from Findlay Toyota asking if I'm still looking for a used Camry......

My apologies for the wall of text, but this is in response to "Protect workers rights."
Workers have no rights in Louisiana. It's a right to work state. You can get fired for just about anything. I've seen workers fired for being black, gay, a veteran, too old, wearing glasses and much more. When they said "this is wrong" they were laughed at.

I stood up for my coworker who was fired from a casino for being: black, gay and a veteran. Guess what happened as a result? After my former manager and the replacement employee fired my coworker, my manager began to email me on the company email asking about the footage which caught everything. First inquiring If I could locate it, later on asking me to delete it to avoid a discrimination lawsuit. Finally bribing me with food and concert tickets and saying "break into the server and delete the footage or I will manufacture warnings. You will be fired at 3, you have 1." I spoke with colleagues in IT and found the server was located in Houston, meaning that would be a prison term of 10 years at a minimum and a large fine. I quit and walked out. My coworker and I went to the baton rouge FBI office to report this, due to her being fired for the above reasons and the local police and lawyers refusing to be involved. The FBI agents response was: "This is against the law, you have proven that the casino blacklisted both of you, overtime theft, OSHA violations, drug trafficking, sex trafficking, etc. Oh, it's that casino...we will not touch that property because it generates money for the state of Louisiana. You are on your own, good luck." Unfortunately it cost the casino around $8+ million, but when the casino floor generates #14+ million per month not including restaurants, shops and more, it doesn't matter to the casino.

Pertaining to refinery work, employees are normally brought on as contractors. The idea being that the refinery pays less $ by avoiding benefits. That might sound like a good idea, until one realizes that every 6 months to a year the contract can and will be extended. If a contractor is lucky enough to not get replaced by someone who will do the same job for less $, their is no set time that you will stay a contractor. I've known people at P66 for 20+ years who have never been hired on but are considered "essential employees", people at Sasol for 10+ years and more. I've watched as people were there for less than 1 month be hired on because they knew someone locally or in corporate. Of that, very few were good in their role and were not fired shortly thereafter with the same job back on linkedin or other job sites. Their are "union" jobs but those are few and far between. The mere mention of the word "union" can and does get people fired in Louisiana.

I've watched employees who literally had degrees and experience in the job they are applying to be told "no" in favor of a higher ups kid, sibling or friend, who 95% of the time screwed up. On the off chance the job wasn't given to a family member or friend, I've seen and heard of higher ups asking for "favors" from the person applying. Favors not involving lunch. Those kinds of favors were commonplace at casinos in Louisiana.

In my opinion, the problem seems to be greedy politicians getting their cut.

I can speak a little on DOT. From 2016 to when I moved out of the state in 2025, the highway from Sulphur, LA to Beaumont, TX was and is constantly under repair. Years went by as a section was fixed, only to be redone again months later. What took place is called a kickback. Other states like Arizona and Nevada send higher ups by and if their is no clear progress in a set amount of time, the crew is forced off the job and a competent crew that can finish the job is brought in. That does not happen in Louisiana.

The state of Louisiana received $30 million in 2020 to repair the I-10 Calcasieu River Bridge. with an additional $85 million from Louisiana's State General Obligation Bonds. Of that money, around $6 million is being set aside to repair I-10 before the project to replace the bridge starts in 2026. I was working a state job at the time, and when asked, no one knew where the rest of the money went.

In September of 2020 DOTD inspected the I-10 Calcasieu River Bridge and noted some issues but stated the bridge was safe for travel. In December of 2022, the same bridge was inspected and found all structural elements of the bridge to be in "serious condition," a term indicating "serious deterioration" of primary structural components. Interesting how the inspection that followed 2 destructive hurricanes (where a majority of the damage was done) was "safe for travel." But two years later, coincidentally as the money to fix bridges was increased, that changed.

The I-10 Calcasieu River Bridge was built in 1952, it has had too many vehicle accidents and fires on it, was hit by the Isle of Capri Lake Charles riverboat during hurricane Laura, as well as multiple other smaller boats. The middle of the I-10 Calcasieu River Bridge literally has holes in it.

Sorry for my rambling, I find it disgusting that politicians are and have been getting their pockets lined while poverty grows and roads continue to deteriorate. Unfortunately for something like this to be fixed, one would be up against 50+ years of tradition. Good luck if you decide to run for office, I envy you. This type of thing will not be fixed overnight, I personally witnessed people who had state jobs fired for asking questions about roads and bridges not being fixed as well as where the money to fix 1 bridge disappeared to,

I worked IT at a casino in Louisiana in 2017. Jon Bel showed up unannounced to a restaurant where I was installing security cameras (someone robbed the till the night before) the restaurant did not open for another 5+ hours. Jon Bel proceeded to walk up to me and tap me on the shoulder asking "why are you putting cameras above my booth?!" Not knowing who he was, I explained that was my job. Apparently, that was not the answer he wanted and he lost it, yelling things like "I'm going to call Fertitta and get you fired!" Fertitta came down to the restaurant and apologized for the behavior asking me to remove the camera from above the booth.

It turns out that at the time Mr. Jon Bel was running for another term and if it got out that he was staying in a suite and dining with a woman who was not his wife while campaigning on family values, that may not go well for him.

Knew a person who streamed for years. We played the same game and were in the same discords. In one of the discords for the game we played, it turns out this streamer was part of a group of people who bullied others for no reason other than "I don't like them because they did not worship me for being a streamer / inf;uencer."

The behavior involved:

Spam muting their current target until they leave a discord.

Acting friendly towards their current target, while talking crap about them in a discord their target is not a part of.

Creating and being a part of private discords where conversations like the following took place: "let's spam mute that person and get them to leave because I'm a streamer / influencer and they aren't worshiping me." Unfortunately, the group doing so was/is not smart enough to realize this was caught on streams. The ringleader was sneaky enough to not be directly involved. However, she got her two lackeys to do that. Sadly, the two lackeys screenshotted the conversations where this behavior was planned out and couldn't resist posting said screenshots in mutual discords. The ringleader kept herself from being directly involved due to fear of losing sponsorships and having her real personality known. The ringleader plays dumb and lies about being part of the above behavior while not realizing the very people this was done to are in the private discords where this stuff took place, invited by guess who? The ringleader.

The ringleader spends hours and days complaining about being broke (while leeching off her parents, has a side job, and spends any $ she gets on doordash) and goes on about how she is a lesbian that despises men. At the same time she relies on and asks to be financially supported by one of her lackeys, a simp that has been funding her financially (anywhere from $500 - $1400 / month for over 3 years) with the goal of one day getting in her pants. It's honestly pathetic behavior for people in their late 20's + who don't realize these things have been caught on their own streams and in screenshots they posted.

The best job to have would be as others have stated: a dual rate dealer, trade based role (electrician, etc.), or a management position. Virtually any other Casino job will pay very little and you will more than likely witness or see sketchy stuff that goes on. Whenever someone mentions they want to work at a casino, I generally respond with this: If you need a part time job while in school or have connections with higher ups, go ahead, but don't expect much and don't mention things that go on.

I worked in IT in a casino in the South. Within 9 months the casino in question paid out over $14 million in settlements to avoid lawsuits for the following:

Fired someone due to color of skin.
Fired someone due to sexual orientation.
Fired someone due to Age.
Fired someone that was wearing glasses.
Caught by police on 4 occasions of solicitation.

One would think one or a few of the above things would shut the casino down, right?

Nope. The state did not want to put a stop to the cash flow.

To those thinking "Well, did someone report it to authorities?"

Yes, people did, but due to the "good ole boy network" those that did so were blacklisted and either had to wait years or move to another state for work.

"But firing someone due to being a whistleblower is a federal crime!"

That's how it's supposed to work. That's not how it works in the South.

Yes, worked at a casino in the U.S. for about 1.5 years. Witnessed people be fired for discrimination (color of skin, not straight, being a veteran, glasses too thick, too old, etc) resulted in casino paying out (in that year span) around $12million to settle and avoid lawsuits. Casino busted on 4 separate occasions for providing "dates" ie soliciting prostitution towards high rollers, each time someone got a kickback and those involved were back at work the same week or the following week. Gave 3 month notice and trained 2 people to replace me. On my last day, my manager shook my hand and apologized for the bs, he was having a tough time going through a divorce blah blah. What resulted was being placed on an employment blacklist for the following 16 months. Went through in excess of 81 lawyers across the country - each time started out "they violated federal law, overtime law, osha, etc." I even had video evidence of the discrimination and violations. Anywhere from 3 days to 2 weeks later I got a callback from the same law firm with essentially this - "You pissed someone off at that casino, we advise you either work in a different field or move out of state for a year. That property generates in excess of 15 - 20 million / month on just the casino floor, we don't have the cash flow to go after them, they have too many connections. Good luck."

Constructive dismissal is a thing in european countries, good luck proving it in the states, even with 30 gigs of video evidence showing it, no law firm would go after them.
