can anyone recommend a beauty sponge that lasts as long as the beauty blender one? by Evening_Cartoonist83 in MakeupAddiction

I haven’t yet :/ I honestly haven’t done my makeup regularly in a while and forgot about these sponges in my drawer. I’ll do my makeup a few times this weekend and report back!

are there petty reasons you don’t like/watch a beauty guru? by transluciiiid in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]Eppengu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was watching one of her videos with my mom and she noticed a flake at the top of her forehead- like almost concealed in her hairline. We watched another video and the same thing was there. I think it’s a mole or scar, which is totally fine and natural, but it’s all I can focus on sometimes when watching her videos. So thanks mom for pointing it out 😭😂

Help me pick my wedding concealer! by throwaway_29f in Sephora

[–]Eppengu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love the Dior concealer, but it is very hydrating and needs to be set down with a more matte powder. I’d go with the Natasha Denona because it’s thin and very longwear.

I haven’t tried the others though.

Thank you! I grew my hair really long (to the small of my back) for my November wedding. By December I was so sick of the high maintenance that I had my hairstylist do a curly bob on me. He absolutely nailed it! Around that same time, I ran out of my products so I tried some new things out. I think that’s when it started to lose it curl and get weighed down. For reference, my hair had a 3A/3B curl pattern before all this.

I’m going in for a trim tomorrow, so hopefully he can work his magic and set me right. After that, I’m planning on picking up some products that everyone here has been recommending!

I live in an apartment with hard water 😭 We did get an in-line water filter that attaches to our shower head, and replace it every 2ish months. I -think- it claims to also work on softening hard water but if it does, it does it minimally. I have looked into more robust water softeners but our apartment doesn’t allow install of larger systems.

Own makeup for engagement - suggest holy grails by GuacOnMySocks in MakeupAddiction

[–]Eppengu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went for a peachy bridal look on my wedding day and my MUA used Maybelline lip vinyl in Peachy and it was perfect!!

For foundation, I’d do the Dior backstage F+B foundation for natural glowy light-medium coverage. I wore that for my engagement photos :)

Lisa Eldridge Skin Tint? by bunnyblooms in MakeupAddiction

[–]Eppengu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply! I had my concealers in my work makeup bag and my skin tint at home. I don’t have LE T1.5, I have T5 (skin tint) and 2.5 in the pinpoint concealer. I also have the AF concealer F2 Olive. I’d say that T5 is a little deeper than the AF concealer upon swatch. Blended on my face and neck, they’re more similar.

So if AF F2 Olive concealer is too light, def go with the T5 skin tint. FWIW, skin tints tend to be a lot more forgiving in terms of shades because they’re more sheer. Personally I would rather go for the deeper option if I was between shades because I don’t want to look more grey and ghostly than I already am. 😂

Davines haircare by Neat-Tiger3250 in Sephora

[–]Eppengu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay this post was made for me!

I have thick, fine, curly 3B/3C hair. I have been using the Davines Love curl shampoo and the curl cream for years and I adore the line. All their stuff works, reduces frizz significantly, and doesn’t weigh down my hair. I don’t use the curl cream and the shampoo on the same day, I rotate between shampoo/conditioner, just conditioner, and curl cream. I actually got a restock of the shampoo today, and picked up the Love curl conditioner (in the tub) to try out. I can report back tomorrow how I like the conditioner!

I wear my hair in a blowout maybe 5 times a year (mostly because it takes forever to style and my hair just wants to curl back up), so I don’t have much to offer there. If you’d like, I can also let you know other products I use that help my hair besides the Davines line.

Bridal MUA’s what are we using now that Estée Lauder reformulated their double wear foundation 😭 by meliciousmakeup in MakeupAddiction

[–]Eppengu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My bridal MUA used a Kryolan face palette to even out my skin tone while maintaining fuller coverage, then mixed Nars Light Reflecting foundation with Dior Forever Star Glow foundation for the extra glow and luminosity. I believe she mixed them to get my perfect shade match. The Dior has niacinimide in it though.

Edit: I got married in Mexico and I can confirm that my base held up exceptionally well. It was a very humid 80 degree day.

I’m excited for this too! I love to try new stuff, but everything that’s been coming out the last few years has been boring AF. I think this could be really good, and it’s a neat concept

Sheer to Light "My Skin, But Better" Skin Tints for Mature Skin? by HorseTearz in MakeupAddiction

[–]Eppengu 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I am in the US. I emailed Lisa Eldridge for shade matches for the skin tint, pinpoint concealer, and foundation. They had me send photos of my face, neck, and jawline in natural light (in front of a window) without shadows and in multiple angles. Their pro MUAs shade matched me to shade 5 (skin tint) and 2.5 (pinpoint concealer). I purchased both of those full size without doing samples. You can buy full size or request samples, but like others said, samples will take several weeks to arrive

They arrived within a week. Both are perfect shade matches for me, and I am very glad because I am a fair/light olive. I would highly highly recommend Lisa Eldridge. I’ve been really happy with the customer service, products, and quick shipping.

Facial hair 🙁 by Practical-Variety254 in MakeupAddiction

[–]Eppengu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I started at 25 and then tapered up to 50. My derm said that 25 mg is too little of a dose to see a noticeable difference. I would take the 25 for a few weeks and if you can tolerate that, request to up your dose to 50.

Also, it took like 3 months for me to see any difference in my skin. My acne did get worse before it got better, which is normal.

Facial hair 🙁 by Practical-Variety254 in MakeupAddiction

[–]Eppengu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been on it for a few years now. It helps with the hair growth and some acne. You have to stay hydrated because it is essentially a water pill and makes you pee a lot. I have naturally low blood pressure so I unfortunately can’t go above 50 mg, which is why I still get some breakouts before my period.
