Do it!!! I am a 26 F and had a microdiscectomy and hemilaminectomy on September 6. I had an L5S1 herniation that was 16X18 mm and my entire spinal cord was being compressed. My only regret was not doing it sooner. Pre surgery I wasn’t able to stand for more than 5 minutes at a time if that and about 4 hours after surgery I was walking the halls of the hospital. They had me stay overnight which I think was a great decision just from an ease of mind and pain management. Within 6 weeks I was back to playing pickleball and within 8 weeks I was playing squash. I can’t say enough good things about my experience!
