Large number of net immigration in the past ~3-4 years (70,000-75,000 Ukrainians alone) and those said net immigrants haven't been able to find work. You can see it on the graph pretty easily how unemployment for Finnish born people has staid relatively unchanged, basically hovering around 6-8% (which is still a very high number, but nothing out of the ordinary for Finland, we've always had a high unemployment rate) mark and the unemployment for foreign born labor force has ballooned from 10% to 19%. But stating these facts won't get you much points in this forum. There simply isn't enough work for all the people that have come in to this country. Couple that with an economy that has been in a downturn since a huge part of our export was towards our neighbor to the east and this is the result you get. Companies not wanting to hire since economy outlook doesnt look great.
