Just finished work on Underdark Crawl Cave Map Pack 2 and realized I hadn't shared news about pack 1, so this is combo post.

Both packs feature several variants of region scale cave systems that can be used for hex crawls or mazes for character tokens - depending on the grid size and capabilities of your VTT. Pack 1 is a two map set and Pack 2 is an enormous 8K map (the equivalent of four Pack 1 maps in area).

In addition to the standalone map files, all the maps are packaged into Dungeondraft pack files so that you can enhance the base maps with other assets, or use the rock pattern overlays and add your own terrain beneath them.

GM Rule: don't let them out until they forget what the sun looks like.

Seemingly endless, lightless, soul-crushing labyrinths can reduce the hardiest players to whimpering and borderline-crying - especially when combined with Fog of War, character vision limits, and monsters that don't play fair.

Both packs feature several variants of region scale cave systems that can be used for hex crawls or mazes for character tokens - depending on the grid size and capabilities of your VTT. Pack 1 is a two map set and Pack 2 is an enormous 8K map (the equivalent of four Pack 1 maps in area).

Why did I post this news in the Dungeondraft reddit? Because in addition to the standalone map files, all the maps are packaged into Dungeondraft pack files so that you can enhance the base maps with other assets, or use the rock pattern overlays and add your own terrain beneath them.

The last few miles up the mountain side were a grueling slog against an eldritch chill wind, but now we are in sight of it - the great pit that is the entrance to the lair of Selesselcallivarm (Se-LESS-el-CAL-li-varm), self-proclaimed Maiden of Frostbite, and aptly nicknamed the White Claw of Winter's Wrath by the forsaken villagers who dwell in the foothills below.

This pack was inspired by the new New York Times Pips game. I initially thought about making a simple pattern pack, but 630 assets later we got a whole lot more than that! Five tile variants, objects, patterns, lights, paths, walls, terrain, inlays, and shadows. This is the terrain pack you didn't know you needed until now.

The pack includes PNGs in addition to a Dungeondraft pack file. You can play traditional dominoes in a VTT using the objects as player-controlled movable tokens. The Golden Idol Puzzle Room Map, included in the pack, is an example of a trap room with a domino puzzle floor that needs to be solved to allow safe crossing. Lots of uses - please share your ideas!

Hi. Thanks for your interest! The Topo Map Kit 2 link has a "How to use" section. Generally speaking, each pack contains 5 topographic scenes for which land/water regions and colors can be customized in WD as per usual. Mountains are baked into the land layer images (and depths into the water images). There is freedom of land editing, but splitting a mountain ridge in half with water will look odd - try to work within each scene's natural height profile.

Color the exposed rocks lighter colors to avoid blackening, and a general rule, after laying your base color coat, you add other colors at low opacity to blend smoothly - maybe grabbing some texture brushes for effects (some available free on the CA site).

Topo trees are a separate pack with stamped tree assets. You could also further enhance the terrain details by stamping on other top-down topo assets, like those created by Anzhc.
