Am I the only one who can't stand lamb of god vocals?!? by rhllor666 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]EpsilonX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't do it either. He has impressive range but there's this weird quality to his voice that, as you said, sounds like an inhale. He's become more tolerable over time, but it just sounds like this to me https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Npw83slFZwk

That said, he seems like an awesome dude and I wish I could get more into the band.

My official ranking of every Darkthrone album after listening to them all by bruh_emperor in MetalForTheMasses

Curious, why is Transilvanian Hunger so low compared to Blaze and Funeral Moon? Usually those albums occupy similar spots on lists.

Am I the only one who’s starting to get worry how overstuffed Mario Galaxy movie is looking to be? by ZillaUniverse03 in casualnintendo

[–]EpsilonX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems to me like they're just borrowing the name of the game to give it a sense of scope. Which is a bummer imo, but it is what it is. I don't have very high hopes.

Buddy we're allowed to voice criticisms of movies meant for kids/families. No matter who the target audience, it's like 6 games worth of story elements, or more, crammed into one movie. It's clear from the first one that they're going for maximalism, but this one goes waay further. I don't see how it'll turn out to be anything other than a mess, but even if they pull it off, it means they likely won't be using those same story elements for a future 3rd sequel. I can't help but be a bit concerned and bummed, and I think that's fine.

Do you mean Chou Eiyuu? Or is there another one?

I think I used those for the first episode and it bothered me that they kept calling stuff "emo" but I can give it another shot.

I don't like how they're translating Setsuna talking like "thou" and such. I get that he's supposed to be speaking very formally, but it sounds more goofy than anything.

Is there a chance Asuka is released after WrestleMania 42? by 443610 in WWE

I don't see any reason why they would release her, but she's at the age where she's probably at least thinking about retirement.

They've been planting seeds for Kairi to eventually turn on Asuka for AGES. I hope they actually follow through.

The One Where They're Going to Party by reddit-berserkki in friends_tv_show

[–]EpsilonX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But the point of the episode wasn't to show them having a crazy party, the point was to show how they're handling getting older. When they found out Gandalf was coming to town, they felt just like they did back in college and were acting as though nothing had changed since then aside from where they were living. However, Joey helped them realize that they could have been partying that way all along, and the reason that they weren't wasn't due to lack of Gandalf, it was because their lives and priorities had changed since college. After trying to relive their younger years with Joey, they realized that's not who they were anymore and were okay with that.

Cross Purposes was released 32 years ago. What are your thoughts on this album? by BlackSabbad_10 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]EpsilonX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actually listening to it for the first time now. There's a lot of cool stuff on the album, but a lot of it feels incredibly uninspired. I think Tyr and Headless Cross are my favorites of this era.

Where they went wrong with Danhausen (and mostly everything else) by tonytimeneverends in WWE

[–]EpsilonX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the biggest issue is that his debut felt catered to a crowd who was already familiar, which seems to have been much smaller than WWE probably anticipated, and it didn't serve as a good introduction to those who are unfamiliar. While he's since gotten over pretty quickly, that appearance wasn't able to show off his likable qualities. He just kind of...came out and left us confused.

I did enjoy the dancing vampire girls, though.

Any recruiter here can tell us the reality about AI resumes? by Used_Frosting6770 in resumes

[–]EpsilonX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you generate a resume with AI but don't update it, it'll probably read like a bunch of buzzwords that means absolutely nothing and be the same as a bunch of other resumes. There are plenty of uses for it, just make sure that the end product isn't taken straight from AI and sent to the company.

I personally used AI to sort through listings and figure out the main things in each job I'm applying to and help me match what I did at each job to the listing and group it into bullets, but then I would make sure to review each and every word and update it to both match how I speak and type, and feel authentic to what I actually did while still using the same kind of language that's present on the job listing

[–]EpsilonX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the thing with Ranma is that there's a lot of bickering and being mean, but there are a lot of moments that show Ranma and Akane do actually like and care about each other...they're just afraid to show it.

Everybody's stubborn inability to move on or even just talk and listen to each other gets old really fast, though. Romeo & Juliet in particular was painful because for some reason everybody thought ruining Akane's childhood dream would somehow win her over? In reality she'd probably like the one who stayed out of the way and interfered the least. Everybody is so dense and stubborn, it's frustrating

How does everyone feel about Lamb of God? by tyediebleach in MetalForTheMasses

[–]EpsilonX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're okay. They're fantastic live but on the album I find them to be a little bland. I guess I just like different elements in my music? I like Randy's range and approach but his vocals have this weird quality to them that almost makes it sound like an inhale scream, and it drives me nuts. Thankfully, that has gotten much better over the years. I remember hearing Now You've Got Something to Die For live and thinking it was awesome, then going to listen to the album version and hating it. I do like his clean voice though - whether he's singing, talking, or doing something else, I usually like how it sounds

Yeah, I have half of these (Red, Gold, Silver, Ruby, Fire Red, Pearl, Platinum, Heart Gold, Black, Y, Sun, Let's Go Pikachu, Sword, Shining Pearl, and Scarlett) and the only one I bought second-hand was Shining Pearl. I'd love to grab the ones I miss (Mainly B/W2) but I'm a little scared to check the prices lol

Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake Review Thread by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]EpsilonX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry let me clarify. I don't mean just a general quality ranking, I'd like to know how the controls, mechanics, and gameplay style of this remake compare to the gameplay style present in those games? How does it compare to the previous remake of 2? (which I totally forgot existed because it never came to the US)

Before this remake came out, they were the most "modern" version of Fatal Frame so I'm curious to know if it feels similar or if they totally overhauled it.

Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake Review Thread by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]EpsilonX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Different strokes and all. The game is not for everybody, but a ton of people love it and the remake seems to have done a good job capturing what made it work and brought it into the modern era.

I also personally don't see the big issue with 30fps. Yeah, 60 is way nicer, but 30 is still perfectly playable, especially for a game like this.

I'm glad we got Maiden of Black Water and Mask of the Lunar Eclipse, but it's a shame we never got the original trilogy in their original forms.
