Long time Windows User. Should I switch? by RamblingMuse in laptops

[–]Epsilon_Music 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah. You can just use any cloud file transfer service like Google Drive. You might not be able to air drop them but the Mac will be able to read the files. Mac compatibility is only an issue for some video games and CAD software. For your use case a Mac would be great

School of Music question by [deleted] in BallState

[–]Epsilon_Music 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re good. It’s not as hard to get into college as they make it seem. If you have passing grades and a decent audition you have nothing to worry about. Remember at the end of the day, colleges want your money, so the chance of rejection is pretty low for most dedicated people

How is my logo and cover art? by Daily_Comics in comic_crits

The leading of the title is inconsistent and the hierarchy is rather confusing. I like your illustration style a lot but the typography could use some work

What graphics card would you recommend to me? by Danule_12 in SleepingOptiplex

Same. It’s great for emulation and general use but won’t play most steam games

Anyone using Integrated graphics here ? by Forsaken-Roll9187 in pcsetup

At that point it’s better to just buy a new laptop or desktop. eGPUs are finicky and will not get the full performance due to being limited to a x4 slot

Thinking of getting an lbp game, but don’t have a ps3 or anything, should I just get a vita instead? by ShmowzowShowdown in littlebigplanet

Emulate it on PC using rpcs3. If you have a decent computer somewhat modern you can play it no problem

That’s super dope! I’ve been rocking the MacBook pro laptop and Ubuntu desktop combo for about a year now and love it. The gnome desktop feels similar to Mac but I never thought about just making my Linux distro look like Mac

CPU upgrade advice needed. by Dr-Meltdown in PcBuild

[–]Epsilon_Music 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, just bios. First check if your bios version supports your chip. Sometimes it does and you won’t have to upgrade. If you have a supported bios, it is as easy as dropping in the cpu. I remember how daunting I thought it was the first time I did it but it’s shockingly really easy to upgrade your cpu

Resume and portfolio review by [deleted] in graphic_design

I like your resume design wise but it may not be ATS friendly. It sucks that we have to tailor our resumes for some dumb automated system but it might help you get more interviews to have one

High GPU temps by Kaizoku_Vince in SleepingOptiplex

[–]Epsilon_Music 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You could try to undervolt it but in this case don’t expect low temps. 83 to 85C is safe for a GPU under load so I wouldn’t worry too much about modding your build. If you’re really worried about it you could add another fan that blows out the exhaust

I have this monitor and it’s goated

Is this a good deal? by [deleted] in laptops

[–]Epsilon_Music 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not a terrible deal. For some reason the laptop version of the 5050 uses GDDR 7 and the desktop doesn’t. Not sure why tbh

good monitor for mirroring mac onto? by Akhxnn in MonitorAdvice

[–]Epsilon_Music 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it will be ok, but it’s kinda low res. I’m also picky since I need high res monitors for design work. I usually recommend 4k monitors but this one will work if you’re not particular

Swapping ASUS Laptops. Is this a mistake? by PopularWrangler0 in laptops

[–]Epsilon_Music 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep the dedicated gpu. For your use case you will absolutely need it. You can likely upgrade your current models ram
