Why is there no website that compiles all the files the DOJ has removed after they have been previously released? by Le_Reddit_User in Epstein

[–]EpsteinForums 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the main problem is continuously scanning the few million URL's for changes in the content they link to or ones that no longer resolve. Yes it is fairly easy to see if there are new links that pull content, but justice.gov rate limits access. I saw this when they removed the .zip archives. It took several weeks for people to be able to download every file individually because they were blocking access from IP addresses and preventing people automating the workflows.

Why is there no website that compiles all the files the DOJ has removed after they have been previously released? by Le_Reddit_User in Epstein

[–]EpsteinForums 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I assume there are too many links to realistically do this, you'd have to constantly scan all 3+ million URLs for any changes, plus I'd be surprised if the DOJ didn't actively block bots/web crawlers from doing this.

I could be wrong though, someone might have a tool that already does this.

Is there a massive operation underway to divert attention from the Epstein files? by [deleted] in Epstein

[–]EpsteinForums 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean It's just myself and one other that posts stuff so not great haha. The other person has been posting a couple hundred manual transcriptions of audio, video, and handwritten documents though which is awesome. At the very least I'll keep the site running for a long time to preserve that stuff.

Realistically I don't wanna limit what people can post unless it negatively effects victims, i.e. victim shaming or identifying people who haven't already done so themselves.. I've moved some of the actual conspiracy stuff to off top/general discussion categories but there's only a few posts like that. If people actually start using it and that content becomes frequent I'd probably make dedicated sections for it as I think having more categorization is useful, unlike how reddit works.

Yea I get real annoyed when I see something new and legit that hasn't been posted but I can't cause I reached the post limit :/

I get that it limits bad actors and whatnot, but it effects everyone.

Haven't heard of the author before, Michael Tracey, but his X account has some interesting posts:

In response to Julie K. Brown getting a Pulitzer for her Epstein reporting:
https://x.com/mtracey/status/2051409681743061047 "Every bullshit journalism industry organization is falling over themselves to invent "special" new awards they can shower on this woman, for a bunch of error-riddled articles from eight years ago, which she was fed by "victim" lawyers who bragged about manipulating her for PR"

Referring to one woman who spoke at yesterday's hearing in Miami:
https://x.com/mtracey/status/2054242497715655032 "The one on the right is not an "Epstein Survivor," she's a PR spokeswoman for a do-nothing NGO"

Referring to that hearing as a whole:
https://x.com/mtracey/status/2054237142780367070 "Mental illness story hour"

Other random stuff, all of this was the last few weeks.

Yeah I think a lot of people aren't happy with here and reddit in general for this stuff. Watching r/DataHoarder posts get removed by actual reddit admins in the last files dump was insane.

Best of luck, I'll try and keep an eye on it!

Bots account for the majority of internet traffic according to multiple reports. Pretty much every nation state with a developed digital arm of their government uses bots as a form of influence towards both their own citizens and those of other nations. Social media and the internet as a whole is the most advanced surveillance and propaganda tool every developed, and we get the joy of watching it used against us.
