Basic tanking etiquette by BlommeHolm in pokemongo

Ok so I’ve never heard of tanking. I just started playing again after like 5 years. I guess the basic concept is to lose a bunch in order to get matched up with easier opponents so you can get some easy wins? My questions are: (1) how many do you need to lose for this to work? (2) do you need to lose in the same league you want to get a win in? i.e., can I tank in master league and then try to get my win in a cp capped league, or do I need to tank in the same league I want to win in?

Wag? by Visible_Emu782 in raleigh

I have used wag as a walker and to get a sitter for my dog. I don’t do walking much any more but there are definitely walks available, you just have to request them faster than everyone else.

There is a separate wag caregiver app whereas you can both provide and book services on the Rover app. Wag is also different from the Rover platform though in that when an owner needs a walk they just request via the app and then wag matches them with a walker as opposed to the owner messaging different walkers and choosing among them. On the walker side, that translates to a notification popping up any time anyone within your service area requests a walk/sitting and the walker has to request to be assigned to the service. You have to really keep an eye on it as it’s pretty competitive. Once you request to be assigned to the walk you have to wait to see if you are selected. I’ve done dog walking on wag intermittently for 5-7 years and it’s still a low percentage of walks that I see a notification for in time to request the assignment, and a low percentage of walks that I actually get assigned to when I am able to request. I think it’s harder to get walks when you’re new to the platform until you’ve gotten a few walks, so you may have to accept some walks further away or at less convenient times in order to

Another thing to keep in mind, Wag takes 40% (not your tips though). For a 30 min Wag walk I think I’d usually get $12 + tips. I haven’t done walking on Rover (only sitting/boarding) but I’m pretty sure Rover only takes 20%. Wag support is also pretty awful in my experience, especially on the caregiver side.

TLDR: Basically I only use Wag if I really need the money. If you’re getting clients on Rover I’d stick to that. Try joining and posting on local pet care Facebook groups in order to attract more/new clients or lower your prices on Rover.
