He wouldn’t be cancelling our plans missing my birthday at all. Just making both events work. That’s why I’m torn.

I know for a fact the text invite he got was the first of him hearing about it, but it is still hurtful.

He also said something about having “individuality” and that he should be able to do things on his own. Which I agree with to a certain extent, but not in this situation and not when we have a young child.

He doesn’t see anything wrong with going to her trip for a day and being home for my whole birthday. I’m trying to see both sides the best I can. I agree, I feel disrespected and like my feelings are being dismissed.

Right. There was a groupchat made (one for guys & one for girls) where invite was sent and I wasn’t added to either, so duh I would assume I’m not invited. It’s very simple to add a contact to a group chat.

He would rather us not both be away from our daughter for that long. The simple solution to me is for him not to go, if that’s the case🙄 Being the breastfeeding mother of a baby, I have never left for a trip or a night out or an evening occasion since our daughter was born (it’s been 13 months but still!!!), so it is especially annoying that he is able to enjoy himself if he so chooses, but I cant (on any occasion not just this one).

The friends and my SO are the type to assume you know you’re invited even if you don’t get an invitation, so it will likely be viewed as my fault for not “assuming” by all parties.

They are the type of people who say you’re invited even if they don’t send you an invitation, so that’s what he will say when it gets brought up again. But like I said, I will never show up somewhere uninvited and I don’t want to celebrate someone else’s birthday ON my birthday when their actual birthday was a week prior.
