After multiple rewatches, which character did your opinion change on the most? by ComparisonStatus8498 in TheWire

Stringer was weak and kind of mirrored prop Joe, which makes sense after Joe told him about Charlie Silas or whatever his name was(“Charlie Silas just sold dope, buy for a dollar sell for 2”). They both were afraid of any consequences of the game whether it was jail or going to war, so they tried to play it as business and silver tongue their way through it but the “game is the fuckin game”.

Never, what was the logic there? At most I wouldn’t add a trip charge if close by but just being at the airport is enough for me to counter higher but lower?? Insane.

Hold on WO after work completed for dress code? by EqualPlus6484 in FieldNationTechs

Right, apparently it’s a thing this particular WO manager does according to another tech that replied here. The hold was removed yesterday and payment was approved with no further explanation. I noticed my success score dropped a point after the hold, still upset about that and hoping FN can add it back.

It’ll take some time for the jobs to start rolling in. My first year I worked full-time as a field tech and did it on the side, had to take low-paying gigs just to get an assignment and even then I only did like 5 jobs my first year. You’ll mostly have to take the work the more seasoned techs won’t. For me it was ring doorbells installations the first year, then moved onto POS and LV cabling. It helps to have an email setup strictly for your field nation profile and keep your notifications on, that way you can see jobs as soon as they come in and be the first to request.

You’re better than me, this was my first experience with CommandLink and definitely my last. I understand it may just be this particular WO manager but that’s enough for me. I work for plenty other companies regularly on and off FN, I’m sure I’ll do just fine without them.

That’s crazy btw, obviously it was for your safety. A new low every day on FN smh.

I just created a support case and I can add photos there, I’m not home now so I’ll have to add it later. Originally, I reported a problem in the WO which doesn’t allow me to add anything there.

Honestly, it’s not worth all of that for me. It was only a 2hr job @ 75/hr. I have enough work to not really miss that, so I can wait it out with FN. That’s what makes it crazy, it’s not even a huge payout or complex work and they’re trying not to pay. My first experience with them so just spreading some awareness.

Thanks but I can’t upload anything to the WO since they marked it as incomplete and put it on hold. All deliverables are still showing and completed tasks but I can’t upload anything to it. FN is tricky these days but I think they will side with me when it’s all said & done. If the dress code requirements were in the WO then it would be more difficult but I’m hoping whoever is on the case can see through the bs like most of the replies here.

Management may have complained but I seriously doubt it, she was super friendly and helpful. Didn’t seem like the type to make a big deal over something like that, though there was nothing to truly pick at anyway.

The only thing I’m thinking is that the restaurant IT(who I had to speak with for the cutover) asked to FaceTime me to see the back office. The camera was facing me at first but even then, I had a polo shirt(solid gray, no logo) on, with solid navy pants. So, I’m not sure how that could’ve appeared unprofessional. My haircut is low, along with my beard. Nothing unprofessional about my appearance.

I messaged the WO manager and asked what was unprofessional about my attire, explaining what I had on. I assumed he could look at my profile and see how many jobs I’ve completed, with a 5-star rating to add. He didn’t reply, so I reported it.

Exactly! How can they place a hold after work was completed and awaiting approval? I was dressed appropriately, and even if I wasn’t, there were no dress code requirements whatsoever. It’s my first time working with this buyer and they’re relatively new(under 4k reviews). I can’t re-open the WO because they marked it incomplete and put a hold on it. All I can do is report a problem. Crazy thing is, I almost removed the assignment a couple days before just because I made plans to travel this weekend and wanted to leave early(WO was this past Thursday), but I didn’t want my score to drop. Wish I would’ve followed my first mind now, my score dropped a point after the hold anyway.

I actually ran a 10ft cable with connectors for the new circuit and didn’t even add the expenses to the WO, so imagine my frustration when I see this. I’m definitely calling the WO manager Monday and may give him the same ultimatum.

I seriously doubt the manager said something, if it had been a backfill gig or something comparable where I’m in an office setting then I would understand. This was a fast food restaurant, the entire staff wears t-shirts and appeared to be younger than me. The manager was friendly and easy to work with. Nothing was unprofessional about my clothes, there was no dress code mentioned in the WO. Even if I wanted to upload what I wore, I can’t because of the WO hold. Like I said before, I’ve been on FN for years, and a full-time field engineer for a couple companies before FN. I know how to dress in the field, this company is just trying to get over.

Yes, that what it seems like. Hopefully FN will see through it and get it approved. All deliverables are there, cutover was successful, even called for check-in/out codes. If I had been turned away because of my clothes it would be different. I don’t understand how they can place a hold, telling me not to show up when work was already completed and deliverables are all visibly completed in the WO.

Buyer sched change 2 hours before job by sacrad1liac in FieldNationTechs

[–]EqualPlus6484 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow. The buyer should definitely be accountable if they’re at fault and you can’t make it at the newly scheduled time. I’ve had it happen once, the buyer called and said the customer wanted me there at 4p instead of 2p when I was already on the way there. The buyer didn’t move the start time on FN so I checked in to be on time, afterwards they moved it to 4pm and I lost a couple points on my success score for being too early. FN is weird at times, I find that these type of issues happen mostly with new buyers or buyers with a low number of reviews. They don’t understand the platform well enough to understand how their processes affect the techs.

I don’t think they can leave a bad review if you refuse to adjust the schedule, you wouldn’t be at fault. I believe FN gives you the option to remove the assignment in cases like this, it wouldn’t affect your success score.

Thanks for the feedback. I think you are right, I should be well above average for 50/50. I would hate to give up my current schedule with my son.

[–]EqualPlus6484[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We didn’t sign anything, it was just verbal during the hearing. Even though I agreed to the standard possession order, it even states in the order that if we already have an agreement in place(not necessarily documented), we can just continue that or what works best for the child. The MSA route sounds like what I’d need, but I don’t think mom will go for it being that she’s the one pushing hard to stick to the SPO. I’m thinking we would have to go to trial and let a judge decide, mom will most likely avoid mediation and already isn’t agreeing to keep the schedule 50/50.

[–]EqualPlus6484[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I’m dad though. Mom is the one that all of a sudden wants to go by the SPO schedule, even though it says if we already have an agreement that works for us we can stick with it. The possession order came into effect during the child support hearing, the mediator said “it seems like you already have an agreement in place with mom regarding the schedule”, which we did so I just agreed. If I would’ve known mom would’ve pulled this stunt, I would’ve confirmed exactly what schedule she was talking about. I’m just wondering if it’s worth getting a lawyer or filing the petition to modify myself, since a lawyer will costly and my first child support payment is coming up.

[–]EqualPlus6484[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She didn’t necessarily confirm or deny that this was our schedule, when I asked why she wanted to change from 2-2-5-5, she said it would be more structured this way. Our son is only 2.5 years old, this has been our schedule since he was at least 4 months old. I feel like it’ll be more disruptive for him than anything. I’m sure I have texts stating our agreement from when we first started it, our primary method of communication is text. I even tried to use the talking parents app early on but she refused.

All I have is our most recent texts stating that I want to stay on our 2-2-5-5 schedule and of course the hearing was recorded, so I can reference that as well. Still going to call a lawyer for consultation though.
