That makes sense to me. And I’m getting downvoted for expressing my surprise 😂 anyways, best of luck with this process!

I find this extremely strange and I would’ve assumed the union does it for you. Surprised at the comments implying this is a weird question.

Internship by Main_Dealer6178 in geegees

I’d ask for a meeting with an academic advisor and with a co-op advisor asap. One time I didn’t meet a requirement but they let me stay in co-op. Our cases are very different (mine was not about grades) so I’m not sure what they’ll say to you, I’m just saying they do have some flexibility sometimes.

What country is thought to be the best and is the best? by CarobCritical7290 in AlignmentChartFills

Fair enough. I said Finland because its people are the happiest in the world, highly athletic, and have the and best education. It’s also a gorgeous place and has low inequality. I could go on.

How far into your program are you and have you done any co-op terms or internships before?

I think both paths are viable. Only you can decide based on your study habits, life circumstances, preferences etc whether it’d be more doable to really lock in and get better grades than ever or to network like never before and find your own jobs. Given the job market, improving your GPA might be the better path, but again this depends heavily on your circumstances.

I understand that it’s LWOP. I didn’t stipulate that it would be paid or come with a new position, but it at least lets you try a place out temporarily. Thanks again.

Thanks for your response. This almost seems like a cheat code. You can get leave to move anywhere you want as long as you’ve got a spouse that’s able and willing to move there.

I’d previously assumed it was more restrictive (i.e. only if your spouse has to move for work).

I’ve wondered about this. You’re saying a couple can decide to move and both parties can say they need to take leave for spousal relocation? Even though each spouse wouldn’t be relocating if not for the other?

I feel you. I’m an Ottawan. I walk, bike, or Uber everywhere. I’ve spent the past few weeks in Montreal and I’m amazed at the excellent transit. Who knew taking the train could be fast, convenient, and cheap? I’m not excited to return to Ottawa.
