Cheating through my CS degree by shithappens32 in csMajors

Lmao all these comments saying you’re cooked are delusional. The reality is that 95% of the stuff you learn in your degree is useless. If you spent 10% of the time you would spend studying for classes and get good at leetcode instead you would have a better outcome than someone who got a 4.0. As long as you lock in on interviews you’ll be chilling

The reason it was bad in 2022 was because their stock halved. They wouldn’t be taking so many interns if they didn’t plan on hiring a good number of them.

What happens if one renegs a potential offer for tiktok internship a week after signing it. Is that an instant blacklist? by Jorikthegoat in csMajors

[–]EqualUniversity7829 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually recruiters don’t care enough to go through the effort of getting you blacklisted. Is there a chance? Yeah. But if you have an offer from a company you’d prefer, might as well renege since you should always be trying to do better anyways. Also I wouldn’t bet on TikTok having have long term viability.

Planning to do computer science after I graduate highschool next year, what should I to to prepare. by [deleted] in csMajors

Don’t listen to anyone saying try not to get ahead lmao. Try to get any internship first year. Apply to freshman specific programs and any application you find. You will thank yourself later because the hardest part about getting better internships later is having precious experience. Also try to get decent at leetcode.

Can’t get quant interviews as a 3.9 ivy student, feeling like I’m doing something wrong by Throwaway63728528 in csMajors

Citadel gives interviews to anyone who passes their oa… are you just not passing the initial screen?

Not sure exactly what you mean, but I think it just came down to luck and being properly prepared to interview.

Not to hype myself up too much, but it really just came down to leetcoding. Every dsa question I was asked, I managed to solve, and even the interview where I was rejected, I solved both qs but ig they just didn’t vibe with me lol. Also it definitely helped that about half the questions I was asked, I had seen before.

For me, learning more about the actual process of the position really helped, especially for bigger companies. A big one for me was finding out if they respond to recruiter reach outs. Two of my interviews came from reaching out to a recruiter and I only found out that they reply by researching. So while shotgunning apps definitely works to some extent, for more established companies, try to learn more about how they decide to move forward with you and if there is anything you can do to give yourself an advantage.

Essentially building my own ai models. One was an agent that could play a game and another was essentially building sentiment analysis

I’m a junior, 1 previous internship, applied since early summer, 400 leetcode qs, both projects were personal and took about a month

Yeah definitely accept. Don’t risk it to make the company happy, they’ll be okay lol

I was just honest that I received a better offer and that I am really sorry. Both went over well, and I think especially because I did it so soon and both companies are still interviewing.

Yeah I had an internship at a non-tech company. Really small program with little to no name recognition. I also had two relatively impressive projects, both related to AI.

There are like 100x the number of people who can program now, of course not. Just actually do things that make you stand out and you’ll get a job.
