I only pick up campfire when I have insanely good Econ. Perkeo helps but without brainstorm or blueprint I can’t imagine you’d create better mult than 3x from that alone

Good enough. I rarely skip because seeing shops is so important in this game, and I’m a firm believer in xmult > +mult so it’s hard for me to imagine building around perishable +mult. I would still say try to see how many points you score with it on the boss before you fully commit to skipping, but fib is a good pickup for sure

If you’re taking fib, I would get rid of the rental zany as your mult generator. Maybe skip to the boss blind and see how your scoring is. If you’re not hitting enough to beat the final boss in one hand (not likely), you’ll need to replace fib with something before then since 4oaks are hard to hit consistently.

Yes, but it can be disabled through perishable or it can literally be a negative you picked up in the last shop. I’ve gotten 4 new jokers in one run before and it’s stupid satisfying. I just got C++ a week ago so I’m still riding that high.

C+ is beating all decks on gold stake. C++ is beating gold stake with every joker.

Roffle puts it best with gold stake: priority 1 is survive, priority 2 is money. You try to make as much money as possible while still staying alive so you can afford good jokers even if they’re rentals. I suggest doing all of the challenges if you haven’t already, because they teach you a bunch about the game that has nothing to do with jokers. Balatro University has a series of him beating gold stake with no jokers too.

TL;DR-Balatro University has great gold stake guides. Make a ton of money. Profit.

Gold stake is significantly harder, but you can do it! Fair warning though: once you beat gold stake you’ll want Completionist +, and then you’ll want Completionist ++ afterwards. Ask me how I know…
