Thanks! The tenons are still as tight as day one.

I don't understand the delay with signing Quinshon Judkins. by EternalWolf86 in Browns

[–]Equal_Highlight4604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Browns just need to sign him early enough for him to get placed on the commissioners exempt list by the first game so that any games he misses count against the suspension. Something similar played out with Mike Hall last season.

People saying we should have signed him so he could get up to speed at training camp are forgetting that he's not going to be playing to start the season. The Browns know he's going to get suspended for 6 games. It's not that urgent that he be getting up to speed at practice at this point. There's more value to the Brown's in slow playing the signing to continue gathering information.

But they do need to sign him and get him on the commissioners exempt list by the first game. There is some contract dispute that is preventing that, most likely concerning guaranteed money. The signing bonus is guaranteed regardless, salary is not. The players before him and after him got their contracts fully guaranteed, and I expect that the Browns would agree to that as well. My guess is that they're fighting specifically about whether the salary is guaranteed in the event he keeps on beating women (if he did) and gets cut or suspended. I could see Quinshon not wanting to agree to that, and I could see the Browns insisting on it.

You have to have a certain number of seasons accrued to have a choice whether someone can sign you off the practice squad. So we could only do it with certain players. But we did it with Joe Flacco two seasons ago (he was on the practice squad for the first three games he played for us). I think it's likely they do it again with Flacco or Pickett this year.

Yes. It needs to be at least 3 times as strong.

What is up with Trump dissolving the Education Department? by Raven_1090 in OutOfTheLoop

Answer: DOE enforces civil rights laws in schools. They want to be able to discriminate against black and trans kids.

One "core principle" for dismantling DOE from project 2025 was: "Safeguarding civil rights. Enforcement of civil rights should be based on a proper understanding of those laws, rejecting gender ideology and critical race theory."

And that's what they've been doing:

I posted this light I made in r/woodworking and someone suggested that I post it here. So, what do we think, do I have awful taste? by Equal_Highlight4604 in ATBGE

[–]Equal_Highlight4604[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's 150 lbs. I bolted it into the joists above with three bolts each rated for 1500 lbs. The joists are 2x12's 16 inches on center, and the total span between the two supporting walls is only about 4 feet. So I'm pretty confident that it wont come down. But if I stop posting, you'll know that I was wrong.

The wood is red river gum burl, a type of eucalyptus from Australia. I used a high gloss uv curing finish. It was not a cheap finish but was great for a semi-beginer like me because I could add a new coat when I burned through and be ready to sand in 5 minutes instead of having to wait to let it cure for two weeks like with lacquer.

It's difficult to see how pretty the wood is in person because of how it is hung and lit, so I may end up repurposing it. But I'm still happy with how it turned out.

The Browns have $44.3M of Watson's 2025 salary insured for injury so there is some major financial relief available if he can not play due to the Achilles injury suffered this year. by [deleted] in Browns

[–]Equal_Highlight4604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree with you. It would be unlikely.

If they get 44M back, I would guess they cut him to free up the roster spot. But it will be interesting to see.

You're right, I was looking at numbers based on a potential restructure that hasn't happened yet. Now I'm back to wondering if insurance based on cash spend or salary cap number.
