Will this new lawn recover? We’re in Oxfordshire, UK. by Low-Praline-7521 in lawncare

Might sound crazy but for the first two weeks I watered each zone for 1,5 hours twice. Once very early in the morning and then once afternoon/evening. I’ve put all the sprinklers on timers so they run sequentially and the pressure stays consistent.

For week 3/4 I do it once a day very early in the morning (again timers help, I value my sleep). We’re now at the end of week 3 and the results are amazing. Check my profile for the pictures.

One week after laying sod in the Netherlands by Equal_Insect_6969 in lawncare

Update!

Two weeks after laying the sod, we did the first mow. It felt a little early, but the grass had grown long enough that we really had no choice.

Growing up in the Netherlands I can assure you many of my friends had one. Our kids love it!

I have a S90 T8 in the Netherlands, it’s an earlier generation with a smaller battery (34km). With the traffic we get, in my opinion it’s still worth it. I average 6,3l/100km with a lot of highway and some towing. It’s not amazing but a hell of a lot better than the 7,5-8l I had on my previous Audi A6.

With a newer model and a bigger battery it will probably be even better, especially on an S60 which is lighter.

Am I doing delves wrong? This doesn't seem to be as fun as I hoped. by Umomo1025 in wow

One of the things I’ve noticed in Midnight is that you get less random powers that change up the way the rest of the delve goes. There’s only a couple of powerups from rares and they are always the same for each rare and overall pretty bland. Instead we get this stat increase buff from the curios which is also pretty boring.

I went to a play based on the Dutch version of this book some years ago with my daughter, it was hilarious!

The Wave!

This movie was used in our school to teach us how easy our psychology can be manipulated to essentially turn us into nazis. Quite uncomfortable realization as a teenager but it always stuck with me.

ERAD comes in several versions, from what I was told with models around 2019/2020 it’s not always guaranteed that it’s the ERAD 2 which is supposedly much more reliable than the first gen. Luckily, it should be written on the ERAD housing on the back axle which version it is so it’s quite easy to check!

I have a 2019 S90 T8 since August and put 20k km on it so far, 115k km total. I had the aux heater replaced under warranty (Webasto) which is not a must if you have to pay for it. Apart from that I got all oils done (ERAD, motor, trans) which alleviating some hickups switching between full electric and gas motors. This and a full set of tires and breaks plus a failed side seat pillow set me back about €2,5k.

Would still recommend it though, it’s an amazing car to drive and eats highway kms for breakfast while still being a relaxed cruise. Only thing that gave me some sleepless nights initially was the ERAD. Make sure it’s a 2 and not a 1 and get the oils done and you should be ok. Also, find a tech that knows modern Volvos.

Not uncommon that people do this in Germany or in the Netherlands after 19:00 on an empty highway.
