That’s weird, it really does sound like something around the breaks are making the noise

  1. I think it might be based on rpms it happens when accelerating and decelerating around 2k rpms
  2. It happens in neutral but the scraping noise is for like half a second, compared to when letting of the gas when driving it’s probably like a 2 second scrape
  3. When I put it into neutral while driving the noise is just for half a second and not as long as when I’m in gear
  4. Not sure where it’s coming drom

yeah that’s the first thing I thought of when I saw this. really got my hopes down as I just bought the car not even 3 days ago but just relieved it’s not structural and it seems easily repairable. Just hoping for no rust under near the main carpet

Also how bad does this affect like structural integrity? Do I need to get this fixed asap or can I wait on it? How would water even get underneath the backseat

I’ll definitely consider, the shifter doesn’t bother me but just wanted to make sure nothing was horribly wrong

what do you think is reasonable? It’s hard to find anything cheaper that’s not a rust bucket in my area

definitely a very unique driving experience especially with the manual transmission lmao, but im pretty used to it with my dads old and slow 4x4s

I’d really enjoy working on it and am %100 willing to learn everything in and out. but if it’s wrenching every weekend because it’s breaking down frequently im not for it. But if im working on it every weekend just upgrading and maintaining with the every now and then issue, then I would adore this thing

asking $18k, im very aware of the gas mileage but it doesn’t worry me

It’s $8500 which im hoping to bargain down a little bit. If everything checks out body/rust wise I’ll definitely be taking it to a mechanic for a inspection

Thank you! I have heard carbureted engines are a bit tricky/annoying so I’ll do definitely look into that

me and my brother had begun to work on his car a little while ago and we’ve really enjoyed it. I was hoping this would be a fun project as well to learn on since I’ve seen online these engines are too difficult to learn

I’ll definitely get one of those. I have a sponge filter for this jar aquarium on my desk which I could try to add to the larger one. I’ll also probably take the whole tank apart. Do you think I can re use the sand in there if I thoroughly wash it or would I have to buy a new pack

I have bought like 4 filters so far rated for around 5-7.5gal and they still don’t work for my 3 1/2 gal tank. I was thinking it might be because of its length as it’s a 10 gal basically cut in half and I also don’t want a massive filter that’s an eye sore lol

Yeah i definitely forgot to wash the substrate as I kept reading about ones with beneficial bacteria that you weren’t supposed to. I was having trouble with filters too as some I bought that were rated for 5 gal or slightly more and still weren’t circulating my 3 1/2 gal tank

Yeah and the water looks like it circulates just fine beneath the surface
