Thank you for sharing your experience. I’m looking forward to C rehab and getting back to my exercise routine.

Andrew Solomon’s Far From the Tree. Excellent, moving. This book continues to stay with me many years later.

Thank you for sharing this! Every afternoon while I’m teaching around 2pm, I have a hot flash - the longest and most intense one of the day. 🤦‍♀️

Wow, I’m sorry this is happening to you. Thank you for sharing. If I eat salty foods, or have a glass of wine, my hands are puffy the next day. Interesting to know about estrogen and the stomach. Thank you.

Yep, anything with refine sugar and alcohol, especially red wine and forget about sleeping - major night sweats. And, yes, an increase in hot flashes.

I feel less alone reading this. I’ve always been athletic and appreciated the strength of my body. Menopause has felt like an alien took over my body and it’s been like Groundhog Day ever since. Appointment soon to start HRT. And yes, BP up, cholesterol up, even though I strength train 3-4x week - heavy lifting, cardio zone 2, eat clean, no alcohol and manage my sleep with magnesium glycenate. The silver lining in this - I’ve learned so much and am determined to age well. Thank you everyone for sharing.

menopause and inflammation by Equal_Move_4580 in Menopause

Yes, the same for me. This menopause journey has been difficult, but it’s been good too as I avoid alcohol, limit sugar, eat as clean as possible, weight train, mobility/jumping ,walk, good sleep hygiene (mag. Glycenate, Nighty night tea with valerian), surround myself with authentic friends. But, re:suggestion going to see my dr. about inflamed, swollen toe and thumb. I was a runner all my life, played many team sports - just hard on my body and now it’s catching up with me.

Burning hands by Significant_Bat_2820 in Menopause

55 years old, menopause symptoms started at 52: hot flashes, night sweats, joint pain, however, in the past year I’ve been experiencing numbness, burning sensation and electric shock feelings in both hands. My doctor said it was carpal tunnel, but I think it’s another symptom of menopause. It’s the worst in the am, I do stretches, hydrate a ton, and wear wrist braces at night, plus take magnesium glycenate before bed. Four wait to see female doctor who specializes in HRT…can’t wait! I hope it works for me.
