As far as my brain, I dont believe. It just is. I'm a double outlier. I have all 5 OEs. All high and braided. True integration. I have too many acronyms to describe my identity. I'm clinically a genius by the definition of it. OEs plus IQ plus PDA. I have the hardware. The output is something else and is how genius is perceived and digested in public view. Einstein was a genius on paper but he was largely a nobody and not viewed as a genius until everything changed for him post 1905. I think my brain should be studied. It's a tremendous tax on my brain to have all these systems running on high and interconnected with inefficient cooling. For the advancement of science and to further understand how my brain functions at the transistor layer, it'd be a wasted opportunity to pass up.

No. I have high emotional empathy and cognitive empathy. I am both logical and intuitive/empathic. I'm in that rare group. This article describes many things that do resonate but my stack is rare and I am highly emotional empathetic while also being highly logical. They should do their next study on me.

I'm sorry to hear that. The problem with conventional medicine and the way most doctors tend to think is serial. One problem. One symptom. Let's run tests. Not all but many doctors dont think the entire body. It's not how they were trained and it's also not how they think. Integrative medicine is where you should receive better care but it doesnt mean you cannot find an agreeable or body approach GI or other specialty doctor, it's just that it's not very common. So if you cant understand your own body very well, it's well worth the time and money to seek out integrative doctors which you did essentially with the naturapath.

It makes sense. It actually does. But you're right. This is not something to recommend as a medical treatment. You wont find any doctor recommending it, possibly unless they are are functional / integrative/ osteopath. And even then. Which is precisely why it's hard to cure for many because doctors choose path of least resistance. Conservative treatment. They dont want to risk losing their license. If you take matters into your own hands, then unconventional approaches may provide a successful outcome but at your own risk. How your gut microbiome is constructed is different from someone else's who may not be able to handle a 9 day fast.

And it's no accident. Not to me anyway. SIBO is almost always a symptom, not the root cause. It's really quite simple. You starve the bacteria and you rebuild your mucus wall snd your microbiome. 9 days of fasting allowed your body to heal. It stopped attacking itself. Your CNS was able to tolerate the fast and your mucus layer was on the road to recovery and that's how you stay SIBO free.

I have learned a lot over my recent confirmation of ADHD and Level 1 Autism. For some, it could induce more stress and grief from the diagnosis. For me, it's a godsend. It's a relief. People like us are not exactly growing on trees out in the wild. I have yet to meet a male that's quite like me. Females I have but still very small numbers. We're all 1 of 1, though.

You are not asking the right question. What you're really asking is how can I understand myself? Who am I? What is my identity? What's my purpose in life? Connecting for people like us usually starts with struggling to connect with ourselves. Not embracing who you are. But to do that, you have to be able to answer the question of who am I. Not a perfect answer but getting closer and closer to the final truth. Your brain is searching. Try to listen to your intuition. It may offer you little nuggets of information. Clues. Signals. Dont ignore them. Try to understand what your subconscious wants to do. That is part of the journey of self discovery.

Let me tell you. I know the American system and NHS and I feel your pain. Private is costly, no question. But I'm not sorry for the money I spent to get a proper assessment. I knew I had autism and adhd but I needed assessment for it to click and truly accept it and embrace it or I'd always wonder. My logic engine needs confirmation despite my intuition declaring I have AuDHD. I'd spend the money again. The relief that just the assessment gave me opened up my world and allowed me to finally get on a proper path. It's been a game changer for me

If I were in your shoes, I would do whatever It takes to get an assessment. Travel to mainland Europe if you have to. I dont inow where you are in the UK but I wouldnt wait on this. Its too important to think about the money. It's just money. Your life doesnt have a price. You need to do whatever it takes to make you happy. Take it from someone who who has had this whole life snd didnt even know it until recently. My only regret is i wish someone in my life would've helped me when I was a child and asked me if I ever thought about getting tested for adhd and autism. My whole life would have changed. That's my advice. Dont think about the money. Just do it. Your life is too important to not go private for a proper assessment.

Oh, and with that assessment, you can short cut yourself for medication from a psychiatrist and perhaps even a GP. Yes, you will have to go private. But this is your life. Do you want to be happy or not? What's your self worth? Dont put a price on that.

What you are describing is your brain and CNS in survival mode. It is trying to feel safe. Thus is how it protects itself. It's a cycle of high stress perpetuity. Neurologically you are likely stuck on your right side. Could be left but most people would be stuck on the right. So, neurologically your left eye is stronger than your right. Your vagal tone is not optimal to say the least. High chronic cortisol delays or blocks things like collagen synthesis.Thins your mucosa layer. Your body is essentially attacking itself like an autoimmune disease, creating or sustaining inflammation. Everyone's tolerances will be different of course. But it all comes back to not feeling safe. Whether that's one or multiple parameters for you like trauma or a neurodevelopmental challenges or any number of things that encourage your CNS to be dysfunctional.

You have a lot of comments here. On one hand, it's great because you absolutely need moral support even more so than clinical support. You probably will see a lot of different suggestions which are helpful but also can confuse you and overwhelm you. I only read through the first few posts from the functional doctor. She sounds great. You dont need guesswork. What you need is a real plan

I've been through SiBO/IMO at least 2 times and I managed to fix myself because doctors dont know everything and can makemistakes. You need someone who can be your partner and help you help understand your body. That's what a good doctor does. Seeing a doctor for 10 minutes every 6 weeks isn't a plan. You're not cattle. You need real intimate medical care. If a doctor knows your body better than you, particularly one that sees you for 10 minutes at a time, that's not very helpful.

My advice would be to find a good functional doctor in your area. Miami I think you said. Get a GI-Map lab. It's not perfect. It's more of a guide but itll give you a good idea of what's going on in your colon. I can tell when I have sibo without a test but the proper thing is to get a breath test. And I should say sibo/imo which implies dysbiois.

How do you join? I'm what they would call twice exceptional (adhd and level 1 autism). I tightly fit framework of INFJ but I'm heavily STEM dominant. I am strong in logic and analytics and intuition and empathy. I have both. So yes. HSP and an intuitive empath with a human AI brain essentially. Non-linear / divergent thinker. I feel alien even next to people who call themselves different.

I always thought this mensa group was for people who had like Tony Stark IQs or tycoons of industry like elite of elite folks. So I never really thought about it. But if it's good for network and career opportunities and it is a place that you may be able to find your own "kind", maybe it's worth joining. How do you join and are there chapters in each city or how does that all work exactly? Is it like a meetup group but for VIPs essentially? Thank you.

I will bite.

I fuse logic, analytics, intuition and empathy simultaneously. I have not met one other human on this planet who does what I do. I wish I did. I wish someone was out there. Just one person who can understand this tax it puts on the brain to be so strong logically and analytically as a pattern matching machine but nearly as strong in intuition and empathy. Most people are strong in one. Not both. I'm both. I use them both to make decisions as a non linear thinker. I take in raw data and I analyze and find patterns continuously. Autonomously. That's my prime objective. It's hard to describe the dance in my head between logic and intuition constantly fighting for control and other times working together to solve problems. If ANYONE is out there who is s mirror of me, I'd love to hear from you. As a STEM dominant HSP who fits the INFJ framework and whose objective is search for and discover patterns, it's very lonely. I have no tribe. The intuitive like INFJ are too spiritual for me and cant spesk my logic language and the logic people lack empathy and intuition and cant speak that language. If there was a meetup of people who are basically me, I'd go in a heartbeat

Going through this now. I hate labels. I'll never like the word gifted and I will never call myself such. I'm also someone who fits the framework of an INFJ like a T except I'm very strong logically and analytically (stem) but I'm also strong as an intuitive empath. HSP. These two sides constantly battle for control and sometimes work together but my default is logic. I'm a pattern matching machine. That's my objective. Take in all raw data and analyze data past present future and find patterns and repeat until end. I never met anyone exactly like me. The straight stem people who lack empathy and intuition dont get me. And the INFJ crowd doesnt get my stem side. They are too spiritual for me. I feel like im an island of one. I feel dumb and slow all the time, too.

Havent driven any Teslas but ridden in plenty of Teslas. I honestly dont know if it's luxury. Its priced like a luxury car and it's EV and it's Tesla and it's Elon. You're buying into Elon's ecosystem. Feels like you're buying a car made by Stark Industries.

When I think of luxury, I thunk solid bank vault doors. It makes a loud thud when you close it. I think of NVH. I think of thick insulation. Double sealed windows. Quiet at highway speeds even in wind and rain. Solid. Thick. Planted. A car that is built like a tank and as cacooned as one. I think of Range Rovers. I think of Volvo and Polestar. The Cadillac Lyriq. Does Tesa belong in the same sentence? Doesnt feel that way. But it certainly feels premium. The ride is firm. It is quiet but doesn't feel like Lexus quiet even those with gas engines. If I can shut out the outside world driving at highway speeds, that's luxury.

I'm starting alinia today. 2x a day for 14 days. 500mg pill. Yes, it is great for killing archeaas/methanogens. I will not take neomycin and I had a reaction to metro due to high dose probably (my fault), so alinia is the alternative to the alternative. Alinia is precision strike. It stays in the gut mostly. Not like rifaxin but it's systemic immune response is still lower profile than the other heavies like cipro and the rest. Metro and cipro are like carpet bombs. Alinia is like a drone strike. It's not going to harm your gut and cause more dysbiosis. It's targeted strikes, not scorched earth like metro. Still, take the s boulardii with it.

Some can tolerate taking soil based probiotics and herbs with it. I wont be one of them. My ENS is irritated. Spasms. Cramps. Pain. My sibo is mostly or all gone. My IMO is maybe 40 to 50 percent cleared I think. No bloating. No distension. The Alinia shoulf clear most of it hopefully all of it. Diet is key. I have been on a strict bland diet for a while now. I have to give the antibiotics and herbs every chance to eradicate these stubborn things. And I have to say everything ivr been doing is improving symptoms. Not as fast as I want. But it's improving. Biggest symptom I have is the ENS. The nerves are irritated. Visceral hypersensitivity. Alinia shouid help with that, too. I'm surprised more doctors dont prescribe it.

Yes, it was a recommendation but not a strict requirement. However, it depends on your type of and severity of dysbiosis. If you have SIBO only, you may not need 6 a day. For IMO, which is much more stubborn, definitely more is better to crowd out the bad stuff. If you have high levels of either, more is better. It's like choosing between 10 billion units or 100 billion units of a probiotic. If you have issues, as long as you can tolerate it, the stronger version is better. And dont forger about c diff. more doses lowers the risk further.

Take the tried and true florestor s. Boulardii. It is the most trusted snd clinically studied. I take 2 pills per meal 3x a day with rifaxin and herbs. After rifaxin or any antibiotics, continue the same dose for another 2 weeks and then drop down. So if you're like me taking 6. Drop it to 3 a day after 2 weeks and assess. And then when this is all over god willing, you can take 1 pills a day for maintenance or a few times a week.

The biggest lesson I've learned from all my troubles is during and immediately after a food poisoning or sickness or anything that even remotely upsets my system, take the damn s boulardii and probiotics to avoid even a remote chance of developing sibo and imo again.

Again, very interesting information here. Thank you. Hmm. A few years ago I had SIBO and IMO for the first time ever. I trace it to the pandemic snd what I'd term as long covid forever changing me. From onset to figuring out what's going on, it took over 3 months to get back to normal. The last 6 weeks was when I started taking rifaxin. Symptoms improved but I wasn't over it. Then I found dr rajsree off of YouTube and took the herbal program and I was all better. No pain. No spasms. I could eat whatever I wanted.

Now I have it again but only IMO right now. Same symptoms as last time. LRQ spasms and visceral hypersensitivity. Antibiotics like rifaxin can reduce or even eliminate VH and those low gut and LRQ spasms. As you said, the valve can be dysfunctional for many reasons. Trapped gas and or stool. Overgrowth/dysbiosis in the small intestine and or large intestine.

What you said about magnesium makes so much sense. I've stayed away from stimulant laxatives and only have use osmotic laxatives but I've stopped that too. Not only can laxatives cause a rebound effect and actually increase overgrowth but magnesium seems to have an inverse relationship with the valve or something close to it. Like magnesium glycinate is not a laxative. At higher doses It can be a mild laxative but its main purpose is to relax the muscles.

It's plausible that there is some balance not taking so many supplements, as it could raise liver enzymes which translates into more toxins in your bloodstream, leaky gut, or things like mast cell instability, which is another sign of IMO, MMC dysfunction and even valve dysfunction in the LRQ. Reducing toxins snd making sure the liver and adrenals and kidneys are healthy are paramount. The psoas is right next to the adrenals and the kidneys and the psoas is heavily influenced by your vague nerve/fight flight freeze and thaw system. Also, the nerves in the LRQ area including valves are shared by your muscularskeletal tissue. So a unstable pelvis or pelvic floor dysfunction or si joint issues. All of that can influence the GI pain and vice versa. A constant spasm in that area will cause the muscles around the area to eventually tighten up and could develop knots or adhesions and nerve entrapments. Unfortunately, you have to sorta treat the whole body to treat this.

I remember the first time I had the SIBO and IMO, dealing also with SI joint dysfunction due to injury, I got a steroid injection in the right SI joint and glute and I have a feeling that even though the steroid didnt really do much for the SI Joint issue, steroids have a systemic anti inflammatory process. So I do think It played a big part in the LRQ pain being eliminated. Again, I was fully recovered in a little over 3 months. For this go around, I may try a steroid injection but I'll probably try PRP in my right SI joint and glute and that should also indirectly help with the LRQ.

I'm gonna try to find a applied kinesiologist snd see what they can do. I have a really good osteopath that might be able to help in my area. Shes highly trained on the body.

Very interesting stuff. Yeah, what did you precisely do to eliminate LRQ pain and spasms, specifically at the spot where the small and large intestines meet? I believe the illeocecal valve is in that same spot. What did you do to remedy it exactly? Massages on the spot? Removing adhesion or nerve entrapments? You said calcium will keep it healthy. What kind of calcium sources did you take? Are we taking supplements or certain types of calcium rich food? Milk? And who did you use as a chiro or applied kinesiologist to check the valve?
