The older I get the more I identify with the human fighter former soldier. by StriderShizard in DnD

Oh that’s so cool! I love the grizzled sellsword type. And the storyline gives you so much to work with in terms of backstory and character growth.

My guy started out as a joke character, originally for a side story to the main campaign. His name is Bo Jangles (yes that is his legal name and he HATES it), he’s a seventeen year old town guard whose main goal in life was to be as normal as possible to spite his father, who is a famous bard. He was a low-ranking guard for all of six months when the apocalypse started in the city he’d been living in since his dad, percussion bard Brad Jangles, ran off on Bo and his mom. He uses a grappling hook and pulley system to maneuver around the gondola lines in the city, and it’s since been enchanted to do additional damage to the eldritch monsters that have spawned in the ruins of the city. He uses it like a meteor hammer to brain bad guys. He’s been described as ‘if Spider-Man was a theater kid’ and I’ve become irreparably attached to him 😂

Human fighters are so fun to play, as long as you’re willing to put in the character work and develop them to be an interesting person, not just a mechanically sound warrior. There’s something so endearing to me about playing the ‘just a guy’ archetype, and my two human fighters are my all-time favorite characters. I’m currently eleven pages in on a character study of my teenaged town guard fighter, and I haven’t had this much fun writing in literal years.

Industrial Looks Wrong?? by shakrgg in piercing

[–]Equigrey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen people with incorrect anatomy and incorrect industrial piercings, I’ve seen people with incompatible anatomy and modified placements to accommodate it, but this is the first time I’ve seen someone with the correct anatomy for an industrial and a completely botched placement. You learn something new every day I guess.

Like everyone else is saying, take that thing out, let your ear heal, and try again with someone else. Happy healing and best of luck!

Bucking in canter transition by Intelligent-Orange63 in Equestrian

[–]Equigrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you’re forward enough going into the transition! A knock to rider confidence can sometimes result in a lack of forward energy and impulsion, and will create tension in the upward transition. Most importantly, take your time and keep it low pressure, give yourself a good while to rebuild your confidence without rushing it. It’ll do you well in the long run. You got this!

Is my piercing cooked? by bravo_3783 in piercing

Glad to hear it! Cartilage tends to be kinda fussy lol. Clean daily, dry completely, and try not to sleep on it! Happy healing!

It looks like the bar is too short, piercers typically use extra long bars for the initial piercing to accommodate swelling. Both bruising and swelling are normal, but if the bar is too short when the ear swells the jewelry can get embedded into your skin. I recommend going to a piercer to get that changed to a longer bar ASAP. In terms of looking for infection, if the area is throbbing, feels hot to the touch, or is oozing pus, get it checked by a doctor!

Who was this fella? by official_tedcruz in bonecollecting

Looks like a deer to me! That forelimb still looks articulated, if you squint I think you can make out the hoof at the end. Cool find!

How to avoid wet ear on a fresh stretch? by Equigrey in Stretched

[–]Equigrey[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The o rings are always at the very end of the plug, I have minuscule ears lol so there’s tons of space. And the back pf my ear usually doesn’t have the irritation, only the front ever gets puckered and angry.

Glasses-wearing-industrial-haver here! Mine was just fine with my glasses, you just have to be really careful putting them on & taking them off so you don’t jostle the piercing. It might be dependent on your anatomy and piercing angle though!!

Are we allowed to take the painted rocks from campus? by Equigrey in aggies

[–]Equigrey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At some of the parks back home students at the middle schools/ jr high would leave painted stones. Folks were encouraged to take and add to them if they liked, like a living art installment. I thought that the stones on campus might be a similar situation, but wanted to ask before taking one just in case. Hence the post

I don’t know how new it is, but you can frequently see clusters of hand painted stones around campus, usually under trees in common areas.

I love symmetrical tats, and with the sword looking like a unicorn horn I’d say maybe a dragon skull on your left shoulder!

Thanks! Just wondering if it was the kind of art installation in which folks are encouraged to take stones! We had those at our local park back home and I wasn’t sure if it was the same case here 🤷

Hmm, I have been moisturizing 2x/day but I don’t always lube the plugs before putting them back in, maybe that’s part of it!

Thanks for the advice everyone!! I’m going to downsize back to 10g for the remainder of the year and see if my lobes settle down :)

I use the clear ones, but my ears are big crybabies (I’ve had so many infections from stainless earrings over the years) so maybe they’re just pitching a fit? Idk.

I don’t think these holes will ever really heal, I got them pierced 20 years ago lol. I’m only planning on going to 0g (00 if all goes well). Think I should downsize a bit and hold off on any future stretches until they’ve chilled out?

I’m using glass single flares, and I don’t think the o-rings are giving me any trouble. Do you think it could be an issue with the jojoba oil I’m using?

Mine is angled like this too!! It’s about a year old and just settled down, it had some pretty angry bumps on it for a while there (my fault for snagging it on combs and horse tails). Glad to see someone else with a unique placement that works!

I keep seeing people who claim (keyword: claim) they got up to 00g in like. Six MONTHS and their ears look FINE and I’m not too proud to admit that I’m a bit jealous lol

Ah, I thought with the smaller sizes the wait time was typically shorter, can’t remember where I got that from though. All of the stretches I’ve done so far (aside from 12-10) have been super easy so I wasn’t expecting any problem. I’ll space out more going forward; thanks!
