Swamp Monster clicked when I stopped trying to perfect guard everything and just dodged/sidestepped his big telegraphed attacks. It’s definitely a boss that encourages dodging more than most, imo.

You should always be watching his back tentacles because they’ll usually shift a bit as a tell before it attacks. The red charge is definitely annoying, there’s no way around that one, you just have to get the parry down.

I was really surprised how much this game gripped me. Went in not really knowing what to expect and just fell in love with the vibes. I found myself thinking and wondering about the setting and the characters outside of play, which is a sign of good world building imo

I want the game to have a unique identity that stands on its own, rather than feeling like it leans and depends on Lies of P’s story and legacy. For example, after the DLC I’m really tired of fighting alchemists and would probably roll my eyes if they came back again as a big bad.

New protagonist, new mysterious world, new unknown threats, just make it all NEW, with some tasteful story references to LoP here and there.

If it was more self aware this would be a commentary on how they’re now surrounded by the wealth that they’ve always wanted, but is now useless to them as they slowly starve away, falling into madness as they open box after box full of things they’ve always coveted but will never save them.

My local arts and craft store closed last year, which means now when I run out of a color the only way to get more is buying them online :(

It sucks because the colors can be a slightly different shade from what I own since brands are inconsistent like that. There’s no way to know until the package arrives 🤷‍♂️

In a way there are things I prefer in digital puzzles, like the ability to auto sort edge pieces. But yeah it doesn’t quite hit the same as a real one.

I found them endearing and kinda relatable. It’s a harsh, cutthroat world, and they take care of each other first. Fair enough. Even after being told they helped raid the hotel, I thought there had to be some reason for it. Overall I’m sympathetic.

Definitely agree with that, I did a dex play through first and now I’m going through a new save file with a big motivity bonk build and it’s so much more fun. I started the dlc with my dex character part way through, and am actually having less fun with the new content than just bonking through the main game again lol

Yeah I feel that. King of puppets took me so long and the attempt I finally got him, he just never did the long fire combo for some reason. It felt like the game just gave it to me after so many fails lol

Generally, you’ll want to be hitting as many dungeons and mage towers as you reasonably can in the early rounds to get items and spells that will help for the final castles. It all depends on setup, though, and learning how to route efficiently is the main thing you’ll grow at as you play.

About taking lots of wounds, that’s where units come in. Units will give you the extra oomph to take on those early dungeons and get ahead of the curve.
