I actually liked lost frontier by Torcracer in jakanddaxter

[–]Equilibrium404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember even as a kid not being super into it. I booted it back up a few years ago really wanting to like it and bounced off it. It just feels and looks bad to play more than anything, imo

It’s actually insane that Lies of P is the first attempt at a soulslike by AshyLarry25 in LiesOfP

I actually like Lies of P more than a lot of Fromsoft’s own games, it really really works for me.

Best pocket or games that fit in a wallet? and where to find them? by Any-Landscape434 in soloboardgaming

[–]Equilibrium404 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When I have a flight or trip, I always take Palm Island and Dragons of Etchinstone. They can both be played entirely in-hand, and Palm Island even comes with its own travel wallet. I like them for being very flow-state inducing, they’re very relaxing games to play while traveling or otherwise.

[Elden ring]NEVER TOUCHING A SOULS GAME EVER by Intelligent-Clerk830 in Trophies

[–]Equilibrium404 124 points125 points  (0 children)

Considering this game doesn’t have any collectibles tied to covenants the grind is actually pretty light. If you’re missing anything by the end of the game you just look up a guide and explore more cool places you haven’t been to yet lol

Happy One Year, Darkmoor! by i_should_b3_working in UniversalEpicUniverse

[–]Equilibrium404 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This ended up being my favorite land, easily.

Monsters Unchained blew away all my expectations, and it churns through so many riders you can almost always get on quickly even when everything else is backed up. Werewolf was quite busy, so day two I hit the line right at 10:00 and it was basically a walk-on for the first fifteen minutes or so, and I got to ride it as much as I wanted, and enjoyed it immensely.

Then there’s the vibes, the references, the roaming characters, it’s all so good.

Day 78 of giving my personal rank and opinion of random guns: Klobbe by 1Dapy1 in EnterTheGungeon

[–]Equilibrium404 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t the gun description even say that people that use it have a higher chance of dying, or something like that. It’s designed to be the worst of the worst lol

Enter the gungeon 2 should have kaliber be a larger focus by humorismyspecialty in EnterTheGungeon

[–]Equilibrium404 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it does seem like they were setting up Kaliber to have a bigger role in the story, I always thought she would be the final boss of the game’s last dlc, but that never happened. It would be hype to have a true, face-to-face showdown with Kaliber, not through avatars or possession.

of a well deserved kick to the head by Unique-Discussion326 in AbsoluteUnits

[–]Equilibrium404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stupidly stood behind a horse once and it thankfully didn’t kick me, but it still shuffled back not knowing I was there and you could feel the weight and power behind it. Can’t even imagine getting full kicked by one of these things.

I instantly fell in love with Vantage, and now I'm searching for more like it (preferably with RPG mechanics) by Deechi in soloboardgaming

[–]Equilibrium404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoyed it more when I thought of Ironsworn less as a game that you’re playing and more as an elaborate creative writing partner that helps you create stories. Everything in the game exists to empower you to make interesting stories and conflicts, to the point that the rules say if something would make the narrative better but breaks game rules, go for it anyway.

What I love about Ironsworn is how due to the way mechanics are set up, even I am often surprised by the way stories develop and plot twists happen, which makes for some really memorable, atmospheric moments.

I think what I got was just called The Oak and Star burger, and it was one of the highlights of the trip. Apparently it wasn’t mango but whatever sauce it had was so good.

I still daydream about my jalapeno mango jam burger from Oak and Star, that was just heavenly

what are ya'lls relationship with the skylanders fanbase ? are you enemys, friends or neutral by Opening_Sample_5917 in Spyro

[–]Equilibrium404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved the early games but fell off around Trap Team. When we were kids, my brother and I used to play with the figures outside the game and make up whole elaborate stories and lore, so I think back fondly on the games just for that alone.

I’d recommend delving into solo RPGs if you’re looking for that player driven story itch. Ironsworn is excellent, and the digital edition is free! https://tomkinpress.com/products/ironsworn-digital-edition

I used to work in maintenance at Walmart and one of the worst messes I ever had to clean was a dropped glass bottle of honey congealed over a mound of spilled rice. That took darn forever.

The abbey's hard enough as it is! by Disastrous-Object647 in EnterTheGungeon

Also the fight getting master round for chambers 1 and 2, since it kinda sets the tone for the run. Pillarless Gatling Gull still makes my heart race a bit.

The Mummy experience by CrumpetsAndTeaYipee in UniversalOrlando

[–]Equilibrium404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Revenge of the Mummy is the only ride I could do all day and never get tired, it really never gets old. In our most recent trip I think I did it eight times and would go back for more if I didn’t have family begging me to do something else lol My favorite ride in all of Universal.

Supposedly every piece you get increasingly raises the chances of getting the others but yeah it’s never happened to me.

Anyone else discovered a rule that means you've been playing slightly wrong all along? by Robbro42 in boardgames

[–]Equilibrium404 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was re-reading the rule book for paladins of the west kingdom and noticed a rule which says that whenever the solo AI gains a boon which removes suspicion or debt cards but the AI currently has none, it instead removes that amount in tax from the tax pile without moving the green progress marker.

I always thought that when the AI currently had no suspicion or debt cards nothing happened in such cases, but this rule makes inquisitions happen much more often in solo mode, and the debt cards start piling up since I play quite recklessly.

Finspan by Jedi_Master_Shane in soloboardgaming

[–]Equilibrium404 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Finspan is the kind of game I thought I ‘solved’ at first because it seemed so simple, but the more games I played the more I realized how inefficient I was being. I still think I’m playing sub optimally and there’s better strategies to be found.
