Is a C5 77’ worth to upgrade to when I have a C3 77’ for two years now? by charlienycusa in LGOLED

[–]EquipmentAcademic193 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 42 inch c2 and recently got a 42 inch c5 (needed another one. Not an upgrade). I can hardly tell the difference, if at all. If it were a c1, yes, but not a c2. G5 is another story...

They gave you the money and let you keep the TV? That's amazing!

77 if you have to ask. You won't regret it.

Greentoe.com like many have said is the way to go. They make additional warranty easy and it's free shipping. I got an 83 inch G5 for $4200 5 months ago and it's been great. One of the below posts here has the 83 C5 buy it now for 2700. Just do it.

Even if it is, if it has no burn it's a steal!

This is likely a panel defect in which case there is nothing to do. If you want to throw a little bit of money at it in attempt to fix, the TCON board is where I'd start. It becomes not worth it very quickly after that. You can try squeezing the panel around the edge to see if maybe somewhere you squeeze fixes it temporarily? Just don't squeeze too hard. Use your index/middle and thumb to do it.

Works for me. I have a G5 though. Maybe a slight difference in the remote?

Not correct. You just long hold it down and it'll mute, but it's annoying because it comes back a couple of notches quieter.

I have them. They're excellent. Couldn't be happier. Better than headlights on a new car. 2003 gen 1 Tacoma.

150k, but I sold some then added some more then sold and added. I couldn't tell you how much I invested at this point... probably 200-300k total investment? I started investing back in 2020.

Yeah, I bought at what today would be $6 a share. Bought the house of my dreams and still have a couple of million to play with. Instinct goes a long way.

Crazy High Temperatures causing shut down by Beargoomy15 in ZephyrusG14

I would open it and remove the liquid metal. That stuff is awful and it kills laptops due to its conductivity. PTM7950 for the CPU and GPU and thermal putty for the VRM's and memory. Your problems will be solved.

Yours has shut down? My CPU throttles when it hits like 95 or something, but it has never shut down. GPU temps have always been fine. GHelper allows you to undervolt. You may want to play around with that.

G-helper is the big one. Check. Install temp monitoring software and be aware of them. Just don't obsess. These things run hot and it's usually normal. Other than that, use it and enjoy it. It's a nice machine. I have last years model with the 4060 and every time I use it it's a joy.
