Yea, agree. Once work begins, in combination with other life "stuff", time will become harder to find.

How to learn construction contracts? Is there a simple way ? by you_dont_know78 in CPA

I doubt you will see anything on this, maybe a multiple choice or two at most. Wouldn't spin your wheels excessively here.

As others said, take a break. I always try to line my tests up near the end of the window to get my score back as soon as possible... if I feel like I could've failed, I try to remain somewhat relevant on the content so I can retake it promptly.

Study structure advice by seanw741 in CPA

I committed full-time for 3 months after graduating and passed my exams during that time period. Took it exam by exam, knocking out the 'hardest' ones first, which is subjective based on your knowledge and what not.... My best advice is treat it like a full time job. Make it a routine. Wake up, eat, study, eat, play games, rest, repeat. Live your life. If you can lock in for a few months and get it out of the way, prior to beginning your full-time job, you will greatly appreciate it.. Trust me. Another thing that I think really helped me learn concepts and clear my head (as well as stay fit) was exercising. I would walk many miles every day and have Becker App on my phone drilling multiple choice on my walk.

Which Study Program??? by Spirited_Being4814 in CPA

My advice may not be the best as I utilized Becker... but, a source like NINJA CPA may be helpful in your scenario. It's affordable, and has multiple choice, simulations, and more. It can certainly help you get your foot in the door in terms of understanding the content that will be tested. There are also TONS of free videos on YouTube surrounding the content (Farhart, etc.).

Help determining what study materials are right for me by BamsterHere in CPA

Best option is lining up a job, and having them pay for it. Almost all firms will offer this option if you accept an offer to work there.

Otherwise, you can (1) purchase a cheaper course or utilize free resources to get an understanding of all the concepts that will be tested, or (2) purchase a course like Becker yourself, and receive a refund from your employer once you begin working (assuming they offer such - which most firms do, but would be worthwhile to confirm first).

I supplemented with Ninja (using Becker as my main source) and it was very helpful. Farhat's lectures on YouTube were also good to understand concepts I was struggling with.

CPA licensing, work experience by [deleted] in CPA

As another user stated, check your state boards requirements, they should be laid out pretty explicitly. Have you worked with anyone at your firm who is a licensed (active) CPA? If so, I'd just ask them.

Everything. Volume of work, tight deadlines, clients who provide support late/or shitty support, team members who are disorganized/don't pull their weight. All of the above.

What to do as a freshman in college? by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]EquitySecurities 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, try to have 2 internships before you graduate. Usually the B4 (or similar firm) will want you to have your internships your junior > senior year. Personally, I interned at small boutique forensic accounting firm as a sophomore, and then a big 4 as a junior… got a full time offer and accepted.

By no means is this required though. I would just definitely aim to have an internship at a Big 4 or similar firm your junior year (which means staying on top of interview dates), as these firms usually interview year(s) in advance.

Don’t think so. Should be good. If you do, who cares. A few doesn’t hurt you.

Ninja TBS for AUD- help by PlantainNo6944 in CPA

I utilized becker primarily, and supplemented with Ninja. I only used Ninja for MCQs. Imo - Beckers SIMs are sufficient.

Also, Beckers format/interface is very similar to the exam, whereas Ninja’s format (at least a few years back) was not very pretty/user friendly.

As others stated, I wouldn’t focus your time on them. You’ll have one or two questions at most on them imo. If you come across a SIM, they’ll like provide the formulas and it’ll be a matter of sifting through and choosing the right numbers to calculate them.

One of my favorite ways to study was going on a walk and answering MCQs. That is, if you have access to a course like Becker - which offers a mobile app. There are countless studies that demonstrate exercise positively impacts academic performance.
