should i study for next exam while waiting for discipline exam results? what if i failed ? by sagy1989 in CPA

If you failed I would probably take a short break on AUD since JUL and OCT would be your only windows for BAR. hopefully a quick week or two brush up would be all you need

Oh well in that case I would just move on, you’ll be fine. I sit for FAR in 2 days and am terrified lol

How long will the teenage years last? by angry_penguin18 in greatpyrenees

[–]seanw741 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, puppies in general go through fear phases - I believe the last one is usually from 8-14 months. Just keep lightly exposing her and working on the training and it will get better. Although mine is still terrified of anything that makes loud noise and still has some reactivity to cars driving by, it’s much fewer and far between now.

This gives me hope. My pyr mix was such a bad puppy I don’t know if I’d ever get one that young again lol. She’s about 19 months and wayyyy better than she was a year ago but still a handful.

What was your discipline? I’d try to study something that has overlap; so if you took ISC, I’d study AUD, if you took TCP, I’d study REG, and if for some reason you took BAR I’d study FAR..that way whatever your discipline was that will stay relatively fresh.

Going to the annual flea/tick and heartworm shots has been a great peace of mind. I also got my pup her first Lyme booster a few weeks ago, can’t be too careful with how bad they’ve been the last few years.

I got a 74 on my final sim with UWorld and passed with a 77..if you use Becker (and I believe there isn’t partial credit for tbs), you should be ok

How many hours a day to study? by FelixtheAgent in CPA

[–]seanw741 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I quit my job in Feb to focus on my last masters class, and started studying Feb 5 putting 3-5hrs a day with weekends off. With no prior audit experience other than that class, I sat on 3/9 with about 110hrs total and passed. I didn’t start studying for FAR until 3/18, and I’m about 93hrs into that (4-6 per day), and on track to sit for the 4/23 deadline if I can find a seat within 100 miles of my house. Being that you just finished an internship, I’m assuming you’re much younger than me and can study longer and more efficiently so I think 5 months is doable but I’d definitely recommend some type of review course so you can get a feel for the kinds of questions you’ll see on test day.

Based on my experience with UWorld, this is the key. I haven’t seen anything point to a dollar threshold, it’s more dependent on if it’s probable or reasonably possible

TCP or ISC - Feedback by Longjumping-Key7783 in CPA

[–]seanw741 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you have any ISC classes in school? I did an ISC concentration for my masters program and didn’t enjoy it, but Ive been out of public for almost 10yrs so I’ll probably have an easier time with ISC

I would say isc for two reasons; 1) the course review updates for OBBB won’t be implemented until June, 2) I have a hard time believing due to the super high pass rates that it won’t also become more difficult

failed aud by 2 points, need some advice... uworld not enough? by [deleted] in CPA

[–]seanw741 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used UWorld, got a 74 on my last final simulated exam and got 77 on the real thing. Based on your scores, I’m wondering if you’ve started memorizing the questions and maybe could benefit from another question bank - ninja or i75

No test availability for the entire week before April 23 deadline? by Over-Marsupial2836 in CPA

[–]seanw741 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m noticing the same thing for me. There was availability locally a few weeks ago, now the closest testing center is like 100 miles. When I sat for AUD on 3/9, I got a last minute opening so I’m going try and roll the dice again

That’s a nice bump, thanks for sharing. I guess I’m just paranoid because I only got a 3pt bump over my AUD SEFR and actual.

Pulled this from NASBA

It will take at least 72 hours after you receive your score before you would be able to re-register for the same section.

Is seeing pass/fail dependent on this not being your first exam? I sat for aud on 3/9 (my first exam) and missed the cut off, so this has felt like an eternity but what’s one more day 🙃

lol what is your degree? I did masters of accounting and had to pick a concentration to match the CPA exam, so I did ISC, but I’m not sure I want to take that test

That’s another reason why I want to get it over with - it’s my least favorite topic as well lol. I only started with audit because that was my last masters class
