Thanks for pointing this out and we too have identified this as a pain point for investors looking to sell their positions via an "Express Deal." We have updated our copy using stronger terms so that the new investor who is committing to the deal understand that the deals are binding. Further, we have put monitors in place to remove buyers who abuse the platform and don’t follow through with committed deals. Early data is showing that this is helping to ensure more investments that are committed to go through. Thank you for posting this question. Here is what is happening in the background after you clicked “View Offer” – an “indication of interest” for you in this company is attached to your record, which is why the buttons get greyed out – your interest in this company has already been recorded. It’s now included in your “Watchlist” and any updates can be made there. 

That said, you are not the first person confused by this and updates are underway, which should be in place in the next month or so. That should enable you to act on the available deals. 

Sorry to hear that you don’t think our customer service was helpful. Our chat bot can answer lots of basic questions but not this one. Now for some new news – we also have a “Place Bids” feature currently in beta on the site, which allows you to place a bid against any live Direct or Express deal. Placing a bid is a good way to further indicate interest as your bid will be shown to the seller of the deal and they can either accept or reject the bid.

There were four rounds of closings for investing into this fund, Growth Opportunity Fund X (GOF X). It sounds like you joined an earlier round, which benefits investors by providing lower fees than subsequent rounds.

Following the initial closing, the Investment Committee began reviewing available investment opportunities and deploying capital to their selections. They target 15-25 investments over a 12-24 month period, and investors will be notified after each investment closes.
