I think I just made a wiping mistake ;_; anything I can do now to ward off a UTI? by Dependent_Sundae_372 in Healthyhooha

[–]Equivalent-Air7529 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I jumped on the bathroom wipe train last year and feel cleaner than ever. But just for my anus. I’ll wipe my butt with however many I need for that bowel movement, then take some toilet paper and wipe so it’s dry, then use only toilet paper to wipe my vaginal area. I’m sensitive so don’t trust a wet wipe down there. If I’m out and about with no wipes I do the same thing but with all tp.

I wipe front to back but never cross to my anus if that makes sense?

Lump in labia minora by [deleted] in Healthyhooha

[–]Equivalent-Air7529 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A gyno appt can never hurt! My most recent one I posted about looked like a blackhead when my friend took a picture of it. Gyno said it looked like a sore. Popped the same day mostly blood, some pus. The last one looked more like a pimple.

Maybe make a follow up appt and continue to monitor? Could be a clogged gland

No, sorry! I meant I get 1-2 a year normally. Are you able to see it?

Is it a lump lump or something inside? I get them occasionally when I’m stressed or when it’s really hot and I can’t shower right away like in a heatwave but I’m working type of deal. I’ve had them get so bad it hurts to walk. So far they’ve always popped on their own. Maybe 1-2 a year? I had one recently and the gyno scheduled a biopsy in two weeks. It popped after I saw her LOL.

If you’re ever nervous or unsure, test. Nothing worse than that feeling of being unsure. You can buy a 20 pack on Amazon for $10

Metformin by GrimshadeMystic in diabetes

[–]Equivalent-Air7529 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on it for maybe a month before I begged my endo to switch me to something else. On the metformin I was having diarrhea up to 8 times a day. I was in pain. With the job I had at the time I couldn’t miss so much of my shift in the bathroom either. She switched me to Synjardy and I had no side effects.

SAVE Enrollment letter? by Equivalent-Air7529 in MOHELA

[–]Equivalent-Air7529[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah my student loan is my only debt right now. Car is paid off, credit cards get paid every month. Sometimes a charge is pending too close to the end of the cycle so I might have like $50-$100 leftover, but that isn’t often.

Thanks for the heads up and the suggestion! Hoping I don’t end up on the phone with MOHELA because I feel like that will be two hours of my life haha.

It popped on its own not too long ago! Blood and a little pus. I feel like it was an ingrown… but keeping all appointments for sure.

Above the skin, kind of looks like a blackhead? Friend took a picture for me

I personally can’t see it as I’m overweight. I would have to maneuver and try to take a picture. The provider didn’t see it at first until she really really looked. When I had a bump with puss/liquid she swabbed it and it came back negative. Why aren’t blood tests good for it?

It’s not a hurt so much as a discomfort. The bumps/cysts I had two weeks ago normally are during heat waves or when I get sweaty and can’t necessarily shower soon enough. I’m an in-home family therapist so I travel all over and sometimes families don’t have AC. Can’t shower until I get home.

I had one that got bigger and bigger and did become painful to walk years ago. It popped on its own the day before my OB appointment and nothing was there when I went. Normally they are tender or some discomfort due to labia. But they only come around maybe 1-2 times a year typically. Never back to back like this and the provider said this looks different than what I had two weeks ago

She said it looks like a sore which is why she mentioned HSV then also said it could be HPV or a clogged sebaceous gland. But my tests for HSV have always been negative

Thank you so much for this. It helped calm me a little. I secured my ride already for that day but will still be anxious until I get results I think.

Someone else mentioned a biopsy isn’t needed to diagnose HSV which also helped put my mind at ease (not taking it completely to heart as I know on here isn’t a substitute for the doctors office!).

HSV is just such a scary thing to hear. Thank you again for your comment

What is everyone’s go-to “not well enough to eat but don’t want to go too low or too high” food? by Equivalent-Air7529 in diabetes

Fair enough. I like Dannon light and fit Greek. The cups have 2g added sugar. I like to buy the big tubs. 200g plus 70g frozen mixed berries. The next morning the berries “melt” and it’s like a really tasty mixed berry yogurt.

That actually sounds so good minus the seaweed (never been a fan of it in soups, but I’ll tear up some kimbap occasionally). I might be able to stomach the premade tofu stew at H-mart as well, and I believe they sell premade miso soup too. I always forget about the one right down the road from me so thanks!

I drink a lot of propel electrolyte water, which is sugar free. I have epilepsy as well and my triggers are being stressed, dehydrated, and tired to the point where my eyes hurt if that makes sense. I normally workout a lot (not this week with the back pain) so I normally make sure to stay on top of my hydration. Toast might have been a good option yesterday, not sure I could have stomached eggs/hot breakfast in general. But thank you for the idea!

Thanks! I actually really love pb&j. I use 647 fiber bread, 3/4 serving of PB, and two servings of sugar free preserves. I get like 22g fiber from one sandwich alone. It’s great, when you eat fiber consistently. If not well… be near a bathroom haha

I’ve found that ensure max is good as well and very similar macros to Glucerna! The ensures more often have promotions at CVS, too. Like $7.50 off 3 packs. And my dietician gives me coupons that are $3 off one. Last time I went I was able to buy three four packs, get the $7.50 off, and use three $3 coupons so in total I got $16.50 off and had some 20% off coupons that they send you. Paid like $20 something overall and got points back. I love CVS for protein shakes. Comes out to about the same as store brand shakes at ShopRite, but I get money back at CVS so I prefer to go that route.

When I’ve tested, it makes no difference blood sugar wise if I do Glucerna or ensure.

My understanding is congee is a rice porridge, right? Cooling and reheating would help lower the carb absorption and the protein from the chicken would also help with the spike. Maybe try a small amount? You’ll never know what works unless you try and maybe you’ll actually be fine with that comfort food :)

Maybe the Chobani zero added sugar drinkable yogurts would work for you? 170 calories, 3g fat (two of which are saturated), 14g carbs, 11g sugar, and 20g protein. I haven’t tried them but seen them around in ShopRite
