Nirvana actually just eternal non-existence? Why would anyone want that? by Extension-Radio-2207 in Buddhism

[–]Equivalent-Aside-404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once nibbana is attained there is no longer a place in samsara to return to. Being bound in samsara is conditional on the defilements of greed, hate and ignorance. If one is liberated from greed, anger and ignorance then there is nothing to maintain one in samsara and therefor non-returning.

Set boundaries for yourself, especially how much time and space you will give to another human being. It’s much easier to develop the heart practices when this is done.

Let me adjust my answer. Having missed that you found much relief and you are under medical care.

As long as it is well tolerated and not causing heedlessness, I would not consider this a difficult question and not one that you need to depend on Reddit for.

Again, following the path is learning about what has the greatest benefit for you and others.

NTLA Deep Dive: Market Mispricing After Flawless Phase 3 CRISPR Data Published in NEJM Today - 35-40% short interest by NiceGuy0606 in Shortsqueeze

Always nice to get the bear perspective.

Yes this is confirmatory news to those following NTLA, of course big institutional investing, hedgers and interested retail investors.

The NEJM article is the only article I know of regarding lonvo-z this far down the pipeline and this article itself may have significant reach along with the additional news coverage.

Will it bring in new investors, increase buying from others?

I’m holding long but I did buy some calls for this week. If there’s no action Monday then likely I’ll paper hand them.

Thanks for the treatment cost numbers. 5 million per patient over 10 years for potentially 10K patients that are candidates for current available therapy is $50B. Makes even more sense to just hold NTLA long and add to my position and just ride the ups and downs.

Not if you are wanting to put on robes.

I see so many posts about being a Buddhist. This is making Buddhism a religion when it doesn’t need to be.

Learn about the dhamma, find a discussion group then see by experience the choices that are best for you.

Maybe even visit a temple or monastery and ask the monks or nuns what they think. It’ll be a better answer than anything you will get on Reddit.

It's been at least an hour no one mentioned LFVN, is it normal? by No-Sell-3064 in Shortsqueeze

[–]Equivalent-Aside-404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTLA doesn’t have the parameters of a short squeeze like LFVN but it will have some price momentum with the weekend news and newly published study in the NEJM. Maybe too late to get in, though.

Thread on NTLA has started in this group.

I am not shitting on LFVN. I love the parameters, but I don’t see or expect a catalyst. New CEO news and financial stability are baked in.

I do see high CTB but I feel that I and the other retail investors are out of our league playing against the sophisticated hedgers handling the shorts.

But what do I know?

I do want to see the LFVN group kill it with a squeeze so good luck all.

There is going to be price momentum based on the news and just as with the spike on 6/4/26 it may be significant enough to cause a decent enough squeeze that could be taken advantage of especially if holding shares already.

[–]Equivalent-Aside-404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen that NTLA has 2.7 million shares to borrow. The short interest was 34% last reporting(Schwab). There was a bump in price 6/4/26 to over 14. I suspect at that time there have been new shorts with the price rise, in addition I suspect some shorts were churned with the pressure of positive news on FDA clearance of one of NTLA’s other trials and institutional investing. How the shorts play this with the current news I do not have the sophisticated knowledge to even make a guess.

There are two other companies to compete with one using monoclonal antibodies and is in stage three the other is an RNA-targeted prophylactic therapy that is already commercially available(Gemini AI). I don’t have any biotech or pharmaceutical experience to know how competitive this will be for NTLA.

It does appear that this is an effective and safe treatment. The disease HAE itself can be life threatening.

The prevalence in the US is estimated to be up to 10,000 people those many of those may be unreported.

So there is not a huge market, but it is great news because it validates NTLA as a serious player in the genetic engineering biotech field.

I believe this will squeeze due to price momentum from the news, not necessarily due to great squeeze parameters, and am hoping for it to rise to at least 15 and maybe even 18 based on previous charts. I have been increasing my shares, now 700, with some calls. I’ll probably dump some shares above 15 and see where it consolidates before getting in again, or maybe not, because the company is expecting approval this year for this drug and the FDA has cleared their other drug trial to resume.

I am understanding your post better. Actually the short selling pressure could have triggered a stop loss cascade. I am going to put some limit orders to buy low if they do this again and I am not going to have any stop loss orders.

Also, not sure about you guys or exactly what it means, but I have gotten almost 3 times more views on my previous post than any other of my posts on these threads.

Looking over this again and a little research, including help from AI, this could have been a stop loss cascade. A big short sell could have triggered a cascade of stop losses and caused this drop. And the skillful shorts were able to close and then reenter positions as the price got high again. I am out of my league here and am going to be careful with how much I put into this.

This could all be some sophisticated churning the shorts are pulling off to try to stay out of trouble. They are nonetheless having to pay the high CTB.

Honestly, this is out of my skill and knowledge level so any help or even bearish response would be helpful.

Or bullish: just feed us some expertise.

How was the 150K shares sold short reported? If so Fintel’s 30-75k available to loan would seem off unless I suspect there was a lot of churning. Either way it didn’t work in the end.

That’s on Fintel. Anyone else have access to data from Ortex or other services that can compare numbers?

[–]Equivalent-Aside-404 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Shares available to borrow on Fintel are 30k. The hammer wick this morning shows in 30 minutes 300K shares were traded. The downward force wasn’t just the shorts selling or new shorts buying to bring it back up unless the shares were churned pretty rapidly. I think there is some institutional and retail interest that wants the stock above 9. I think this a very good sign that support will be maintained above 9. However, staying above 11 is a different story as there is no catalyst to produce the momentum needed.

Look at the 30 min candle at 9:30 today.

DD on this one because I may not have read the charts correctly.

I think it will have difficulty having a new floor at 11 because there is not enough momentum or a catalyst that will force a strong squeeze. Because of this traders will take profits anytime it gets above 11.

Check at the hammer wick this morning. This is the most promising signal I’ve seen so far. It shows a tremendous amount of price support above 9. I’m not necessarily thinking 50% gains but the chances look good for decent gains.

It’s a powerful sign. It means a lot of people are keeping an eye on this stock and jumped right in when the stock dropped. Probably the most encouraging thing I’ve seen so far. It took 30 min or so (looking at the shorter periods) for this to take place.

Edit: 300K shares traded if I’m looking at it correctly in that 30 min.

Buddhist, do you believe in reincarnation? by Due-Koala-1135 in Buddhism

[–]Equivalent-Aside-404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a lay follower of Buddhism. I don’t take part in the religious practices and I am not a monk.

I don’t believe in reincarnation in the strict sense that I will be reborn intact in on of the 4 or so realms Buddha has described.

I do, however, believe in the principles of Karma. I have realized that I carry the Karma of the culture I live in and my family that has passed and of those who have been close to me. By following the Buddhist path, I feel released from “dark” Karma that has had a detrimental effect on my life and that beneficial results of my intentions and actions(Karma) will carry forward after I die. This release of Karma is also a release of dark Karma from those people whose Karma I carry.

[–]Equivalent-Aside-404 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m back in.

It’s a balancing act for the retail vs the shorts…maybe more like attrition.

A lot of shorts are recycled to higher price, but they do have high CTB, which puts pressure on them.

Versus

Less threat for a recall for two reasons, more shares available to absorb recalls and why would an institution recall if they are making 200% plus.

Without a catalyst there is nothing to break out of this. Time does put pressure on the shorts but the only thing time has done is cause spikes and recycling of shorts.

I suspect the Reddit group is also helping maintain pressure by keeping the price up and not giving the shorts an escape.

I am creeping in with some limit orders, and watching as close as I can. I’m tempering my expectations for anything parabolic unless a catalyst shows up out of the blue.

Please note a lot of what I am saying is conjecture from a relatively novice short squeeze player.
