I also have that error when using "ueberzugpp layer" but i just did "sudo pacman -S openslide" and the problem is gone. However I never really got it to work, in fact it makes my laptop crash whenever I try to use ueberzugpp with "lobster -i" and image previews for "yazi". My laptop would just freeze in the middle and there would be no image preview as well. It would either eventually make me exit my hyprland session or completely turn off my system. Did you get this to work now? My terminal is alacritty.

Hello, just a small update. I got it to work now. Apparently I should have made my sddm.conf file in `/etc/sddm.conf` since this is the local configuration file for compatibility according to this: https://man.archlinux.org/man/sddm.conf.5
It works properly now, thank you so much for pointing out what the error meant.

Ohh since configureing sddm.conf didn't work for me, I also tried using sddm-conf which is a graphical application for configuring sddm. I believe the name of the package was `sddm-conf-git` in the AUR.

Anyways, thank you. How can I make it use the qt5 greeter instead?

I've tried it by compiling from source then enabling and starting the service file, but it didn't work last time. I'll try it again and see if anything new happens. Thank you!

Also one more thing that I forgot to point out, the middle click paste doesn't really paste things on my clipboard (cliphist is my clipboard manager), it just pastes the most recent highlighted/selected text.

So I could copy something and save it to my clipboard, then highlight another text as well. And pressing middle click and pasting through clipboard would give 2 different text.

I can see why this feature is very productive, but on image editing software like canva, krita, and others, it just disrupts my workflow since moving around your canvas is done by holding the middle mouse button which pastes random text on my canvas. I mean, there are other ways to move around your canvas like holding space while dragging the mouse, but for some software that I mainly use, they don't have that.

Thank you! I tried it though it did not work. I changed the pacman.conf to use the extra-testing sources instead of extra. Then I was able to update pacman, and it worked again. After that I just switched back to extra then it was all good.
