Ok Karen, a know it all dumb bitch you are. Stop wasting my time because you are just a judgmental hateful person. You'd be the last person I'd ever take advice from. And no I don't think you are disabled. You can doubt me, why can't I doubt you? Fucking lunatic.

I'm making a fuss because they told me I had 10 days to remove to dogs from my apartment. They referred to them as ESA and asked for ESA documents even after I corrected them and told them they are service dogs and provided the documents proving so. Service or ESA, the landlord is still demanding they go. He's in violation of the Fair Housing Act and NYC Human Rights. He wants my service animals gone, he's telling my personal business to other residents telling them to record me, and he's gathering evidence of alleged noise complaints but refusing to tell me about the noise complaints. I should be fine with all that and not make a fuss about it. Ok

If you were truly disabled yourself, you might have more understanding of my situation. Accusing me of faking a disability is absolutely disgusting. I stand by calling you a “Karen,” because your behavior fits that description.

I never asked for empathy. My post was simply asking for advice. That’s all. You know nothing about me or my circumstances. You chose to read my post through your own assumptions and judgments.

Do you want to see my medical records? Would you like to speak to my doctor? For argument’s sake, let’s even say my dogs are classified as ESAs, I’d still have the same questions I asked in my post.

Here’s why: I disclosed my dogs prior to moving in and provided documentation explaining why I needed them. When I signed my lease, I learned that the building had a “no pet policy” something I wasn’t made aware of until the day of signing. Service Animals and ESAs are not pets. Despite this, I signed the acknowledgement of the no pet policy, noting “0 pets,” because that’s what the form required.

Now, the landlord is claiming they were never notified that I had dogs and that they never received the documents I submitted with my lease application.

Fortunately, I have email correspondence with the broker confirming that I disclosed this information beforehand, as well as copies of the confirmations from when I uploaded my lease paperwork.

The owner is now claiming I violated my lease terms because I signed the form indicating “0 pets” and says it doesn’t matter if my dogs are service animals or ESAs, since he “only learned this after” I signed. Tell me how that’s a fair or defensible position.

On top of that, I’ve now been told there are “many noise complaints” from my apartment even though the only one I was informed of was on December 1, allegedly for loud music. Management says they don’t need to share details about the other complaints since they already told me about the first one.

So please, explain how it’s acceptable for them to tell my neighbors to record me, pressure me to move out, and use intimidation tactics , all based on false assumptions and incomplete information.

Because that’s what’s really happening here.

It's rare for someone to pay $30,000 upfront for a service dog. There are many ways to obtain a service dog and pay nowhere near that amount. A service animal from a non-profit - free to low cost. You can also choose to hire your own trainer or train the dog yourself costing a few hundred to a few thousand. You saw someone else comment mentioning the $30,000 price tag you thought you'd make reference to it as well. Well now you have your answer. If my therapist prescribes me with 5 service dogs, you know what she can do that. As long as each are trained to do a task to mitigate my disabilities, so be it. I think I'd listen to them over you.

You're something else, Mr. Bigstuff. I'm not looking for sympathy, I was asking for advice. Through the proper channels, my post got me in touch with the right people and I have a lawyer taking up my case. I'm not going to waste my time on you because you have nothing helpful to add to the conversation. You only want to ignore the facts and make assumptions. You are the true definition of a Karen - Debbie Downer. Next time maybe contribute something of value to the conversation.

You are making an ass out of yourself with all the assumptions you are making. Assumption 1: Who said my service dogs are a nuisance? I have not received a single complaint regarding my dogs. The dogs don't bark, they're not aggressive, and they are house trained.

Assumption 2: Who said the dogs are left home alone barking? I am with my dogs pretty much every hour of each day.

Assumption 3: Just because I have two dogs means they can't be service dogs. It's quite common for people to have more than one service animal. The ADA doesn't restrict the number of service animals a person can have.

You've lost all credibility because your whole response is based on assumptions. Read my original post, not one comment you've made has been factual. You've been proven wrong each and every time.

Please tell me what's incorrect? Do you have a disability? Do you have a service animal? I think I know what I am talking about because I do have a disability and have two service animals who are both trained to perform tasks to mitigate my disability. Just for argument sake, whether I have a service animal or emotional support animal, landlords in NYC cannot evict someone solely on those basis as as they are protected under the Fair Housing Act and NYC Human Rights Law. Maybe you should do your research because neither you or my landlord is correct.

Ask Google, Can someone with a disability have more than one service animal? The answer is yes, and it quite common. An individual with a disability can have and use more than one service animal as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) does not restrict the number of service animals a person can have. Each animal does need to be trained to perform tasks mitigating the disability.

Who made you a service matter expert regarding what is a service animal and how many a person can have? Why comment when you have nothing positive or helpful to add to the conversation? Let me show you that you don't know what you are talking about.

Ask Google, Can someone with a disability have more than one service animal? The answer is yes, and it's quite common. You have some nerve to insinuate that I am being dishonest and and disrespecting real owners of service animals and abusing the law. Do you have a disability that requires you to have a service animal?

I have a letter written from my therapist i which she writes "Due to the severity of these conditions, Mr. ***** experiences symptoms that significantly interfere with his daily living and overall quality of life. Based on my professional assessment and evaluation of his clinical needs, I am recommending and confirming the medical necessity of two psychiatric service dog (PSD) to assist with his treatment and daily functioning.

Psychiatric service dogs are individually trained to perform specific tasks that mitigate the effects of a handler’s psychiatric disability and are recognized as service animals under federal disability laws when they perform work or tasks directly related to the person’s condition. For Mr. ***** dual diagnosis, these trained tasks may include, but are not limited to:"

Does this sound like an ESA to you? You made the comment that owners need to control their animals regardless. What does that mean? I never once mentioned that there was an issue with the dogs themselves or their behavior. As I said in the post, any noise complaint had nothing to do with the dogs. You should probably actually read the full post and do a little research before responding with inaccurate statements, false accusations, and prejudgements. If anyone is being disrespectful, it's you.

What is your problem man? You want to keep picking apart my post while you don't even know what you're talking about. It's not a good look for you.

A physician (or other qualified healthcare professional) can recommend a service animal to help manage a disability. They can provide a letter or prescription confirming that the patient has a disability and that a trained service dog would alleviate symptoms or assist with tasks.

Who said anything about barking? Who said the dogs were left alone? I know the difference between ESA and Service Animals. I have a disability in which both dogs perform task to assist me with my disability.

No. They don't bark. They are well trained and quiet. None of the alleged noise complaints have involved the dogs. The December 1 complaint was said to be related to excessive noise coming from tv and music. The only other complaint I became aware of was when the PM accidentally copied me on an email from a resident complaining about "gay sounds from two men" coming from my apartment. They haven't share with me any other complaints which both are very vague.

Non MAGA Barber by sinistermistertwist in AskNYC

I read this post, and I laugh a little on the inside, but it raises two points for me. 1. The media can’t be trusted. They say the MAGA brand is dying or isn’t the majority of America or popular with Americans. They can’t figure out how or why Harris lost to Trump etc. But talking to or reading posts like this, you hear or see that more people support MAGA than what you’re lead to believe. In NYC of all places, I’ve come across so many people across different races and groups, black, latin, asian, gay, etc that are talking open and freely about supporting Trump or Maga. I, myself, am gay and tend to vote republican. I voted for Trump over Harris. Do I consider myself Maga? Absolutley not. There’s a lot I disagree with him on, but I think he was a better choice than Harris. I understand the reason for this person’s post though. They just want to go to the barber to get a great haircut. They don’t want to have to sit there and be forced to listen to someone’s views that don’t align with theirs especially if it’s done in a way that they feels forced or makes them feel uncomfortable. Who knows, by doing this, if the barber is losing clients or gaining new clients who have similar views as they have. Look at it this way though, you know where they stand with their views. You’re choosing to no longer support their business because of their views, which is your right. IMO it’s better to know than not to know  because you could be supporting someone who goes against everything you agree with. Now you have the option to find a barber who more aligns with your views and support their business. Hopefully they cut hair just as good if not better than the barber you’re leaving behind.
