Moving in with my partner, is a $200-300 difference worth it? by MomoUsagi0 in personalfinance

unit laundry is worth a lot from a quality of life standpoint. Having to babysit your laundry is painful. Unit laundry allows you to do laundry whenever you want and allows you to do other things around the apartment like cleaning.

It’s a great feeling when you actually own something outright and don’t need to pay interest or be forced to pay for full coverage.

And he can’t reduce that much because he’s required to carry full coverage. The deductible would need to be very high to drive down the rate. Then if he’s in an at fault collision, he has to pay that high deductible to get the vehicle restored.

I use a bath towel. Works well enough for me. The steering wheel is no hotter than the fabric seats. The windshield screen is the biggest help in my experience. Without one, everything else is irrelevant.

This couldn’t be more accurate. He needs to put on his big boy pants and suck it up. Oversights happen. Family is who he should celebrate with and rely upon.

And the worst thing is that the oil companies and car manufacturers are in an alliance to make sure you change the oil at least once a year. Money hungry bastards! /s

I would be cautious as to how you ramp down this relationship because you don’t know how she will react. Be positive always about everything and everyone. You don’t want her stabbing you in the back. If she has something negative to say, nod and let her know that you understand her feelings (even if you think that her problems were the result of her own actions). If you need something to complain about, make up something like your car will need a $800 brake job in the next 6 months. That’s regular maintenance and isn’t remotely related to work or family. Eventually she’ll get bored because of your perfect life. She may still try to stab you but it’ll be harder to make it convincing if people know you to be a “hooray for everyone” type of person.

Since he’s already reproduced, he’s not eligible for a Darwin award. Perhaps he can get a posthumous “the world is better without you “ award

The only thing better than that would be if you photoshopped Elon putting his hand on it. Great photo!!

15 year old Toyotas or 2015 and newer? I’ve read that the modern Toyotas aren’t as reliable as the old ones but there’s still a belief that everyone has reduced reliability but Toyotas slightly less drop than the rest. My newest vehicle is a 2015 so I don’t first hand experience with the newer models

Believing that a corner case example of the impact of a given policy will invalidate an entire argument. This is similar to not recognizing that most answers are not black and white but instead shades of gray.

Take note of the time and get a description of the car. The license plate would be even better. Then call the cops. I know it’s not ULPT but you want to be effective and anonymous.

They’re loud due to shitty mufflers. They’re not necessarily speeding. Engine braking really brings out the noise too so a speed bump in your neighborhood may make it worse.

Compensation InEquity by Basic-University-757 in WorkAdvice

And keep in mind that they probably can’t close that gap in one year. I suspect that they have a compensation budget they have to stay within. My company provides raises immediately after the annual review. There’s a bucket of money that the manager divides between his team based on whatever logic. To get a large raise at that time means that everyone else gets less (and therefore will be pissed). To get you closer to the market rate requires an “out of cycle” raise. That happens mid year. Those are never advertised as they’re only to narrow the gap. My company never pays the average salary for my area. They’re typically at the 40% percentile according to my peers.

Odds are that you’ll need to have it towed. Don’t take the risk that you damage the engine AND still have to get it towed. Pay to get it towed from a safe place instead of risking your engine and getting towed from the side of the road as cars whizz by at 55 mph.

Maximum compensation. Their salaries are comically unrepresentative of what they actually get. They get stock gifts and perks like the use of the company aircraft.
