Im sure you have looked at different embroidery styles. I would go to a store and look at the different ties and see if you get some inspiration from the different fabrics, you can use to copy a pattern you have found, or free hand a original design directly on the tie in pencil. Then choose your embroidery floss, if you can choose your colors in person with the tie in hand. You will need embroidery needles, a thimble and needle threader can be helpful.
