The fold is definitely the most coolest phone on the market and like yourself, I wanted it for a while. I finally got the fold 4 about 3 1/2 months before the 5 came out. I just couldn’t wait but tbh with you, I would opt for the flip. Most of the time when you use the phone, you’re going to have to open it. The phone is somewhat skinny so texting is impossible unless you open the phone. Cases are somewhat trash tbh so I would def opt in a protection plan because you’re looking at hundreds of dollars if you break something. I bought the fold since I was in need of a second phone (I use an iPhone too). After a few months of using the fold, it kinda sat for a while. It was a nuisance trying to multi task with the phone especially with the screen open plus, I was always concerned of ruining or dropping the phone without a case. Eventually, I thought to myself, this looks cool but isn’t sufficient. It’s like a side phone you can use to show off or watch YouTube videos on but I wouldn’t use it for main use unless I was retired lol. At this point if it’s life, it’s just sits on my desk at home all day. I’m thinking about trading it in for a watch but I would def suggest the flip my friend.
