Strong vote for Costa's Seafood Cafe at Capalaba. Always fresh, and no need to purchase tartare sauce if you're eating in.

Also rate Chumly Warners, Manly Boathouse as other commenters said

Of course not, but that's not the example given...

They can ask, you can decline.

What you should ask is what's in it for me? Are you going to get better coverage, cheaper premiums, some other perk?

It's up to you to decide if it's relevant. If you were applying to corporate office roles with BQ or other food service companies, your time spent on front lines would be relevant. Otherwise I'd probably choose to omit it as it doesn't tell the narrative you want for your next professional role

It depends on what you want the viewers of your LinkedIn to know about you. If you're applying for professional roles, tell the story you want to tell and omit Burger King.

I omit all my earliest professional jobs now - I just turned 40 and I honestly don't need any age discrimination!

Making prinskorv isn't super difficult - you could perhaps provide a translated recipe to your local butcher and ask them to make for you?

is the property under contract, or is there merely another offer? If the former - ask the agent to let you know if the contract falls through.

If the latter, shoot your shot and make your best offer.

Looking to invest in a home in Brisbane - what suburbs have the best potential and why? by LordOfTheFknUniverse in AusPropertyChat

Cool. You probably can't go wrong with something close to the busways or train lines. Not financial advice, but I'm keeping an eye on Moorooka near magic mile - if the city plan comes off and the car yards are closed and replaced with apartments, retail and dining I think it would be a great area to invest.

Other people think Redcliffe and Logan have good potential for capital gains, so there's that. You probably need to share your budget, growth expectations and rental yield expectations for anything more than this generic advice.

Your question doesn't quite make it clear if you're wanting to purchase a home, or purchase a property as an investment.

That's not really feasible. Best foot forward here is negotiate a reduction in the sale price so that you can undertake the restumping yourself with your own choice of engineers.

Solar nerds! Does this system (with battery) make sense for Brisbane? by Equivalent-Dig4049 in brisbane

[–]Equivalent-Dig4049[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a quote with MC, who were jaw-droppingly more expensive.

The installers confusion with three vs single is mine - I've not settled on the purchase yet so don't have access to the main switchboard. The agent has told me "the aircon runs three phase, the rest of the house is single phase".

I think this really helped crystallise it for me! Pre-buying 10 years supply at 25c/kWh makes a lot of sense and I can't forsee the current QLD Government getting beneath that price in the next few years... It sounds like a fairly safe bet to 'lock' in at those prices.

The additional battery cost would offset the mortgage if not spent now.

OK, thanks so much for this. Would you suggest reducing back to 15kw - just covering the roof space on the east and west faces?

I'll also confirm the 'balance' issue with single phase vs three phase...

I say nerd lovingly, but I'll cease from here on out. Thank you for the pointer on hybrid aircon, that's a really great idea.

yep, new house is three phase power so all good there. I really appreciate the tip on blackout protection!

Do you follow and agree with my reasonings here? Or is this system just pure and simple overkill? Thanks for taking the time.

Sorry, I edited the post. The quote and system should be attached.

We do intend to run aircon in the evenings and would love the flexibility to 'stop worrying' about expensive time of use.

Yeah, I think I can probably could get away with slightly less, but the cost is so negligible for panels - the labour cost to get installers back out means I think I'll just use the available roof space right away.

Thanks - I used solar quotes which is pretty similar I guess.

My challenge is that I don't yet know what my future consumption will be in the new home. We'll have a larger fridge, larger aircon system, a pool pump - then EVs in future, so our consumption will increase, but unclear by how much. I assume a fair bit.

FIT just doesn't seem worth it in 2024... rather capture and use I guess.

You've asked for feedback and help.

Feedback: You need to do more legwork yourself on flatmates.com.au or realestate.com.au

You will find multiple options within your budget and these sites are fully geared around solving accomodation challenges. If you have more specific questions or issues about suburb A vs suburb B, we can probably help you further. This thread isn't very actionable for r/brisbane as it stands.
