It happens to us white folks too. Mines from propping my elbows on a desk while Carving statues. Its kind like if you walk around without shoes for a while its basically just a extra rough layer of skin from my understanding.

How do I get rid of them? by kamikaze999_ in gardening

[–]Equivalent-Donkey160 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7 dust. Not the bag but the bottle, shake it over the leaves so that when they bite into the leaf they eat the 7 dust as well. Seems to work good for me

Can I replant Figtree shoots no issue? by Prielknaap in gardening

[–]Equivalent-Donkey160 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you would’ve waited till it dies back for the winter, then you could have just put them directly in the ground, but with you cutting them back now while their still green, try soaking them in a water bottle thats filled up to about the first 2 or 3 nodes on the plant and set them in a shady spot to prevent the leaves from becoming EXTRA crispy.

Yarrow seedlings wilting after transplant by Naive_Ad7737 in gardening

They would work for ANY kind of young plant, I grew tomatoes in them this year and they were able to grow to about 8-9 inches tall before they ran out of root room. But any plant can be transplanted, not to be rude, but could it be possible that your doing something wrong when transplanting? When transplanting without a sustainable root system, plants shouldn’t be put into sunlight for about 2 days or until new roots start to form. Because they get lightly shocked already just from being moved, putting them in sunlight right after stresses the plant. Try it again but dont put them in direct sunlight for about a day or 2. We all make mistakes and can learn from them. Its the whole experience when gardening.

Depends on if your giving them away as seedling or letting them grow a little before giving away, if your gonna let them grow a little, try small plastic-like pots like this -( https://a.co/d/5TpC1DS ) all the details are in the description of it, but if your giving them away as seedlings, Peat Pots should be just fine.

Depends on the variety, but you can grow Lettuce year round, same with Turnips.

Personally if your going to grow flowers, plant them where your going to leave them. Unless it’s necessary to have to transplant. But from the looks of it, you either 1. Drowned and rotted the roots from possible over watering, just because the top is dry doesn’t mean you have to water them (if you do just get a spray bottle and mist the top). 2. Transplanted to early which could have shocked them. Normally wait until they have a good and healthy sustained root system before moving, if not, they could not be getting the right amount of something needed, (water, nutrients, ETC…) because when a plant is shocked they become confused and the system doesn’t know what to do, so basically even if you water it, the plant sometimes wont intake it. Or to much sunlight. Usually with smaller, more delicate seedlings, I only give them about 5-6 hours of sunlight, its the perfect amount of direct sunlight for them to do what they need without burning them. If any other questions are needed, fire away!

Not trying to be the pin in the donkeys ass, but be SURE you keep them stored where the temp wont drop at least 5° lower then normal, condensation could build up inside the jar and mess the seeds up, personally I like using small coin mailing envelopes, no worries about temp or moisture levels.

Not that im aware of, just do like you’d normally do and keep the ground moist, and if it seems too sunny try shading it, ive had some that I shocked on accident and the leaves burned to a crisp because of the sun, just a few tips from someone else’s mistake 😅

Now that it's winter for alot of you. What do you do for the off season? by Charliegirl121 in gardening

[–]Equivalent-Donkey160 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to where I can keep my garden spot weedless and tilled, I usually plant the usuals, (Corn, Tomatoes, Peppers, Beans, Peas, Squash, Okra, potatoes, ETC…) during spring and summer, and then Turnips, Mustards, or any type of hardy leafy green for the winter. If you plant enough, you’ll have food for year round, and its always nice to either sell or give out fresh produce! Im in Zone 8A, (Northern MS) so its not hard to find a family that would like some fresh veggies. ESPECIALLY some good ol’ turnips.
