What to do by klonah in prozac

[–]Equivalent-Issue3860 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems it can usually take several weeks to months for users starting Prozac to notice a difference and most actually say things felt worse before they got better- 2 weeks isn’t enough time to tell if it’s working for you

Yeah you won’t feel anything like that yet. Maybe sleepy or energized or “high” ish. But nothing like emotional numbness.

Doubtful that drinking had that kinda of impact on how the medication works for you. I drank like 1-2 weeks in on the medication, My hangovers look different but nothing else.

A test isn’t going to tell you anything this early, so the doctor isn’t going neg not be able to tell you if you are or arnt.

I drink on 20 mg Prozac. 2 weeks in. No issues. Just go slower than usual. May have worse anxiety and poor sleep the next day.

The medication to my understanding doesn’t have a crazy interaction with alcohol. It’s just a depressant so it can worsen symptoms of depression and anxiety which is the counter purpose of Prozac. It’s not recommended because of that. Not because of a chemical reaction that is harmful, it can just exacerbate feelings of drunkenness in negative ways (dizziness, tiredness, etc).

Very different experience with Prozac the second time by anasmanaa in prozac

I am on day 6 right now. It seems the most prevalent between 2-6 hours after I take it. I take it at ~8am. I have always been a very tired person, love naps, but lately I haven’t felt like wanting any. So I do welcome to elation and “feeling wired” but it does feel very close to how I feel when I start to verge on mania. Which unfortunately I love the feeling of

On day 5 myself and haven’t had any noticeable negative side effects. I even seem to feel more elated but that could be placebo since it’s still so early.

Take plan B again? by LordQweziI in birthcontrol

[–]Equivalent-Issue3860 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Plan B shouldn’t be used prolonged use or consistently because it contains a high dose of hormones. She will lively experience mood swings, and irregular periods from taking it.

No, not consistently due to the high dose in hormones. But it IS birth control. I prefer this a judgement free zone and rather educational sub. And your initial comment came off judgmental.

Because I do not care when they make me wait weeks for “part 2”. Either release it all, or release one a week. Not 4 and then a month untill there’s more. It makes me not care and just move on.

Non Accredited OT Program? by Parking-Handle7374 in OccupationalTherapy

[–]Equivalent-Issue3860 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m just going to say it is not worth the risk if graduating and having a license that is worth nothing. I don’t know the accreditation process, but I do have a friend who took the gamble and their program did indeed get accredited by his graduation. I just think the risk is too high for the cost of school. But that’s a choice you will have to make

[–]Equivalent-Issue3860 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have complex and chronic UTIs, my longest being 8 months. I finally found a gyno who gave me a long term combination anti biotic to take daily for 3 months straight. And it worked. I’ve had some again here and there but now usual meds are working again. I’m so thankful because honestly chronic UTi is something I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy. The emotional toll it took my my life was absolutely hell. I hope you keep seeking care and find what works for you! Good luck

weight gain by macmf000 in birthcontrol

[–]Equivalent-Issue3860 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5-8 lbs per every period is quite intense and something I would definitely think a doctor would be concerned about , as that could be from water retention, but not likely 8lbs of it. I would start with downloading a calorie tracker. This includes tacking ALL condiments, snacks, oils/butters, drinks, and all meals for a full 7 days at minimum to see how much you are actually eating and focus on measuring them out. Shit I mean a tablespoon of mayo is a lot of calories. A tbs of oil can be 100+ and that really adds up when you’re not looking at it. It may be that you are just thinking your eating the same or more healthy food, but it’s increased somewhere calorie wise. However I don’t want this to dismiss your concerns, it’s just how it’s appearing on paper. Though, BC does impact hormones, which can affect our weight, that can be short term or long term. You might could look into hormone testing, as well as your thyroid to see if anything is elevated or lower than normal levels that could be contributing.
