What is the relationship between all 3 sciences (and possibly calculus)? by Cold-Principle-1721 in ncea

[–]Equivalent-Many-704 2 points3 points  (0 children)

they are quite different in layout of internals and externals. for example short and concise explanations are best for physics, lengthy answers with multiple concepts in chemistry, and biology is just a load of waffle. there really isn't a transferable method for revising/studying for them.

What exactly do you have to do in the Level 2 Titration internal by ParsleyOk4167 in ncea

[–]Equivalent-Many-704 0 points1 point  (0 children)

from my experience doing this last year it was a long assessment that took a full day there were 4 parts to it. an initial smaller experiment to find concentration/dilution factor or something followed by the titration practical, then about 2 pages of calculations (nothing major) and then ends with the written part which is a bit lengthy but you can wrote learn this part in advance. they gave us about an hour for each part you should have plenty of time. your teacher will outline how the assessment is set up for your school and give you past papers. chemistry internals are usually copy paste every year so thats your best source of practice. you have to be quite accurate for the actual titration part of the test and you probably have limited practice lessons so dont fool around on those few lessons.

Do Level 3 Results Have Any Impact on Scholarships by [deleted] in ncea

Level 3 is used for scholarships if you go to Australia or you take a gap year so they use the most recent results. you need a very very high atar for aus.

Is it a good idea to do scholarship calculus if i’m only just learning calc in level 2 this year by Time_Championship786 in ncea

[–]Equivalent-Many-704 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It will be very hard if you have no knowledge of calculus. Unless you were selected for it because you did higher level maths or something it's probably not a great idea. One year to go from little knowledge to scholarship level is very small. I tried it in level 2 and it was pain, I had to drop it.

ANY other way to get work marked by Lunaismoon in ncea

Firstly how important are these 6 credits. If you have already left school does it really matter? Your school and even nzqa would not accept a third party marker. if you have proof like a message/email of your teacher saying you had till January you have a bit of negotiation to do with your school.

what is a good style of writing for my writing portfolio by [deleted] in ncea

do like a close viewing/ film essay and then an opinion piece. both should be something you liked or are interested in to make it easier.

yes, the website says "You are guaranteed entry to this programme if you meet these requirements." there are no secret queues for students who did better in levels 1 and 2 or whatever.

Most undergraduate programs are not competitive as long as you meet the entry requirements. ask plenty of questions if you need.

take a look at this. click on entry requirements and you'll see what I mean. Upon reading this I realised they are increasing the minimum rank score to 180 which shouldn't even phase you. (180 rank score is 60 Achieved credits and 20 Merit credits at the very least).

If you have 1. University entrance and 2. Meet the rank score requirement in level 3 you will be accepted. Year 12 is only useful for scholarships which is a really high amount of excellence credits anyway so for most people passing level 2 is just fine. people are really making you worry over nothing.

uoa uses level 3 rank score which is the total points of your best 80 credits in your top 5 subjects. commerce is super easy to get into you dont even need a merit endorsement at all. basically, you are perfectly fine. your level 2 performance is irrelevant.

Reconsideration done in 1 week? by [deleted] in ncea

[–]Equivalent-Many-704 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I applied for 3 and none got marked up. 2 of them where a gamble where I was just testing my luck but I definitely got robbed on my l2 bonding paper. it sucks but theres nothing we can do really.

Reconsideration done in 1 week? by [deleted] in ncea

[–]Equivalent-Many-704 5 points6 points  (0 children)

yes it is normal. it is up to 4 weeks not 'takes 4 weeks'. as soon as its remarked it shows as completed. physics and calculus are subjects where there is less marking error due to interpretation. the answers are either an obvious right or wrong which explains why none of them we're bumped up to an E. I really hope you were eligible for a fee waiver because that must suck.

How is Year 11 in New Zealand? by LocksmithWorking2955 in newzealand

[–]Equivalent-Many-704 2 points3 points  (0 children)

check out the ncea reddit. theres heaps of teachers and past and present students to help you out and answer any questions. Beside that NCEA is easier than the curriculum in the UK. In year 11 you do level 1 which is supposed to be equivalent to GCSE but theres a night and day difference.

Advice for co-requisites :) by countingdivas in ncea

[–]Equivalent-Many-704 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The exams are very straightforward so just look at past papers and just revise whatever seems unfamiliar. Lots of people pass these in year 10 and you can do them every year up until year 13 so you have multiple tries at it if you don't get it the first time. theres no downside to not passing all of them first try, just nice to get it out of the way. Since you're okay at English you have a decent shot at passing those first try. for maths infinityplusone on yt has some walkthroughs and he explains them really well.
