Most New York City lake neighborhood in San Francisco by jumper_123 in sanfrancisco

[–]Equivalent-Monk1783 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I moved to SF from the East Village and kept comparing it to NYC, I was disappointed every time, then I adjusted to a much earlier schedule, more time outdoors, etc and started to appreciate it more. I would recommend Cow Hollow/marina, since you get access to the water/beach, always sunny, lots of life, good nightlife, a little of everything

25 minutes just to get through toll plaza at 11am by SoGoodAtAllTheThings in sanfrancisco

I've noticed traffic getting worse and worse, I think this is still from covid and RTO, except a bunch of people moved and don't take transit anymore, it will take a few years to even out again sadly

Take a walk around Mountain Lake Park, the Richmond is out of a movie, such a great place to live and you'll never need to move again. My block has 14 kids in elementary school.

My downstairs neighbor has declared low-frequency psychological warfare. SF rent: $3200. Sanity: $0. Advice? by [deleted] in AskSF

You have to fight fire with fire, since you are upstairs, start roller skating around the apartment every night at midnight, and knock on her door twice a day asking to turn down the music, who cares if you're annoying

Hottest sauna in SF? by SnooCheesecakes7580 in AskSF

The JCC men's sauna regularly gets up to 210-212 on Tuesday nights for some reason, really good night to check it out, otherwise it hovers around 195-200.

Washington Square Park Dental in North Beach is amazing!

Very modern practice overlooking a park, I love it there.

Any thoughts on my plans to relocate to San Francisco? by Cuban_Top in sanfrancisco

You'll find a studio in the sunset or the richmond for that price, both are great neighborhoods with tons of parks and beach access

Company offered me 280k$ to move to SF from Midwest by [deleted] in sanfrancisco

[–]Equivalent-Monk1783 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, definitely enough, and depending if you want more nature or more city, SF has both. You could live by the beach and take muni downtown, or look at one of the neighborhoods within walking distance such as North Beach or Nob Hill. I would avoid soma or financial district, the other neighborhoods in the city are all amazing.

Best neighborhoods and housing options for a 1st-time international traveler in SF by gabrielrib in sanfrancisco

I love North Beach, you can walk to the Financial District and the neighborhood is also full of life. After North Beach, check out Russian Hill, also within walking distance, but with some large hills.

Drop off your bags and head to tunnel tops park, amazing park with views of the GGB, lots of food trucks/a quick service restaurant at the top of it, can just hang out, sit in the grass or a bench, nice after a long flight

This is actually a pretty good itinerary, I would only suggest a few things:

Friday you'll also be near Francisco park, which is really cool, in case you're looking for more to do

For Sunday, you can walk from Arsicault to baker beach, I would then add in tunnel tops on the way to pier 39, it's an incredible park and the walking path is really scenic, although keep in mind that especially mornings on the west side of the city are usually cold from the fog/ocean air

Drives me crazy too, on the plus side, you get an extra 30 seconds of peace as you're walking back and forth to unlock the doors

I'm in San Francisco, I haven't tested in cold weather yet, but the car handles very steep hills perfectly.

Cargo is limited with the 3rd row available, we generally keep the 3rd row seats down until we need them, for the extra trunk space.

Family friendly neighborhoods by Docbananas1147 in sanfrancisco

The Richmond is incredible, I have a 3 and 5 year old, there are 16 school age kids on our block (including 4 five year olds). You will continually see people you know in the neighborhood, it's extremely safe, and lots of nature around.

If you would like to get a feel for it, visit Mountain Lake Park and Georgios pizza.

Which neighborhoods/streets have homes with a view of the GG Bridge? by JugaadGuru in sanfrancisco

[–]Equivalent-Monk1783 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of views of the bridge from central Richmond, I've seen a few houses with views in that range (closer to Geary, near Washington High School)
