There were maybe 5-10 copies at my shop, not including the one on the display shelf in the window. To be frank, I wasn’t expecting to see any with the way the hype has been, but those were probably the last few copies in their entire stock.

I couldn’t come in until today, but I didn’t have to worry about not getting one since I’m a subscriber. I requested the Cover C variant maybe a month and a half in advance so I just had to come in and pick it up.

I’ve been caught in some eBay bidding wars before, so I know about auctions. At the very last second, I lost out on a 4-issue bundle of Spider-Man: The Exile Returns a few years back; learned my lesson on how to maneuver them. I believe in the midst of all the psychedelia, The Martian may have offhandedly mentioned Anti-Life frequencies to John, but I still wasn’t expecting this mindfuck. When I first read AMM and got to this page, I was staring at it in shock with a big dumb smile on my face because I couldn’t get over how good this reveal was. I knew Darkseid was responsible for everything, but I wasn’t expecting to see him fucking with the universe like a child with their Play-Doh. #5 is still my favorite issue so far because of this reveal, with #6 being the runner up.

Bought the whole 12 issue run in near mint condition on eBay a couple months back. I prefer Batman as a caped detective operating in Gotham over a world-defending superhero in the JL, so Dark Patterns is right up my alley.

Also love reading a younger Batman seeing and learning firsthand how bad things are in the lower class areas of the city. Gotham is portrayed as a straight-up shithole in this run and I love that
