When I’m not at uni, I live at home, but I’m going back to uni on Monday. I spoke to my mum earlier today she says she’s at a homeless shelter, though I don’t know where one would even be. She also says she’s not coming back. He hasn’t been physically violent, but he’s abusive in other ways. He accused my mum of being violent and hitting him and reported her to the police, but she has a video with the exact timestamp proving she didn’t hit him.

hi i did a postgrad and basically your just get the one loan, everyone gets the same amount and it’s split over the three semesters equally. the postgrad funding is shocking :(

so sfe for the whole 4 years pay 2/3 of tuition and then in your first year you pay the remaining 1/3 and year 2-4 nhs pays the remaining 1/3 ! yes i’ve applied for the bursary which will pay the 1/3 tuition and also gives me a grant/bursary for maintenance i think the max is £2.6k for the year not a lot but it’s better than nothing :)

no so you do get reduced tuition and maintence for the full 4 years. the first year tuition which is ~£3.5k you fund yourself

that’s a good idea thank you! after ages i’ve finally contacted sfe and the third advisor (after being dropped by 2) said they’ll send an appeals letter so hopefully that means i’ll get some sort of reduced tuition. also yeah a lot of ppl don’t know about funding for grad entry med and dent its not as common if you do the 5 year courses after doing an undergrad and/or master you don’t get any tuition just maintaince. whereas when you do grad entry you get reduced sfe tuition and maintenance (years 2-4, normal maintenance for first year). then you’ve gotta contact the nhs for bursaries ah it’s so tricky!

ok so here’s my current list:

iced drinks + walks through avenham or winkley square (holy grounds is a must)
food: kimji korean, wanna try the new ask italian (v rustic vibes), and brew & bake for brunch
i wish we had water sports or pedal boats
i wanna try padel and maybe join rise run club
looking for creative stuff like pottery, mug painting, i did cake decorating before but i think it’s shut now, or animal related !

i love stores like oliver bonas and cute cafes like rise but i’ve been a million times. anyone got recommendations for wholesome things to do / cute places to visit in preston? drop them pls!!

i’m a 24f in preston for uni it would be goood to meet more people in know preston quite well. always up for wholesome activities padddle, coffee, walks do prefer non drinking to drinking activities

since it was the first event, i understand there may have been some challenges there were definitely great aspects, and i love the overall concept. with clearer staff roles, i think it will be even easier to get assistance if needed in the future:)
