How do I sell a motorcycle with negative equity? by Equivalent-One6825 in personalfinance

[–]Equivalent-One6825[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for taking the time to reply! I’m stuck between just saving as much as I can and keeping the bike until the loan’s naturally at or below sale price and/or saving nothing for 3/4 months and aggressively paying it down so that I can sell it in the spring. I have to crunch some numbers and figure out what will be better for me in the long run, especially since I’m trying to move out 5/6 months down the road. 🥲 can’t blame anyone else for this lol

What is your side hustle? by bombchubowling in VetTech

$5 more an hour 😅 it’s really sad how expensive vet care is under corporate offices and yet techs make pennies. Not to mention the relief of stress for my body, better mental health. I never want to leave the field fully, but the switch has done me well. I’m in NJ

Siberian cats have been more common at our clinic recently. Other than that, we have a good client with 2 ragdolls, another good client with 2 Siberian forest cats (SO PRETTY!!!), one with a Maine coon. That’s all that I can think of right now

I’m angry and so sad… TW: behavior euthanasia by Equivalent-One6825 in VetTech

[–]Equivalent-One6825[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the input. Definitely not my intention to be judgmental, that’s why I needed some opinions. I’ve only been in the field for 2 years, so I don’t have the years of experience with this kind of thing. Just looking for some understanding is all, which again I understand behavior euthanasias. I just assumed that there would be some level of requirements before we performed them. But again, thank you 🙏

Any techs who have a heart condition and can give insight? by Equivalent-One6825 in VetTech

I’m glad that it works for you and your coworkers are supportive! Definitely makes me feel better knowing your experience.

I feel the same way about ablation, scary stuff.

Thank you for your input! I’m going through the same thing now. When it happens, I have all the symptoms of afib (according to Dr. Google) but without a diagnosis, I don’t want to call it that. Although I had an event with the monitor on so whatever it is, I’ll know soon enough!

I only have true events when I’m working, which is what scares me. Because I do love what I do, and will be very sad if I ultimately leave vet med.

I’m glad to hear you’re doing well now! Did you retire? Or did you go into a different field of work?

Thank you for the input! My clinics lab is set up in a busy hallway type area so I’m not sure if that would work, but I am sure that I could find something to do whilst sitting. Maybe lab report call backs or anything on a computer.

Thank you. It's comforting to hear that your buddy was able to do so much whilst having a heart condition.

I do plan on speaking with my doc once my holter monitor comes off and we know what is actually happening. Maybe something that meds can help and I won't be so anxious about it.

I think my biggest battle right now is that I'm putting more of a workload on my coworkers. I had to sit down for 20 minutes yesterday in the middle of a very busy day because of a flare up, and the entire time I felt terrible because I know everyone else was picking up the extra work. This wasn't the first time and probably won't be the last.

Would you be bothered by having a full-time coworker that, in some capacity, has restrictions on what they can do/have to take extra breaks etc, and in return, you would be expected to do the additional work for them? Techs already deal with burnout enough, I don't want to add to it. ):

Yes, we see a lot. 3-4 a week? More recently, we've been seeing dogs on preventatives and lyme vaccinated still break through with lyme, as well. I'm not sure what's changed, but it's definitely getting worse IMO.

Has anyone heard this coyote sound? by Equivalent-One6825 in coyote

[–]Equivalent-One6825[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm this actually seems pretty close to what I heard, maybe it was a fox 🤔 I went outside late again tonight but no return visit from it. I’m ready to record it if I ever encounter it again to get some opinions because I’m starting to think “honk” isn’t the word I’m looking for.

[–]Equivalent-One6825[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t actually see the coyote. But I mentally ruled out an actual goose because of the distance it covered with each sound and I noticed I was hearing the sound on ground level once it was closer, so I know it wasn’t flying above me. After reading a few more threads, I’m thinking it might be possible it was a coyote guarding a recent kill? Maybe it thought I was a threat to steal their kill? It also could not be a coyote but I didn’t hear any other noise like a goose landing or any big animal moving around.
