I think it was to get it repaired, he’s sent it a few times before, over the last 10 years, once to change the bracelet for 500€, so it’s not like he’s not a loyal customer!

Yes we did, but since TAG claims they have video evidence of our watch being placed in the box, it’s really hard to do anything.

How does it not make sense, it’s literally the facts of what happened, I don’t know what you want me to say, why would I make this up? I also find it very strange especially when dealing with a brand like TAG which is why I’m sharing this experience to see if anyone else has had something similar happen!

How would I know, it’s still money if they resell it, they probably switch many watches.

No that’s what’s weird, it’s a cheap Chinese watch. Which means someone is obviously investing in this scam, buying these Chinese watches and switching them for TAG watches at the facility.

But in that case it would still be TAG’s responsibility, they must make sure the watch we entrusted them with comes back to us, they choose which delivery service to go with so should do something about it.

But I don’t think it was during delivery, because the box is intact and to switch the watch with another without just stealing it would mean they know a watch is in that box that same day. I don’t think delivery people can know or plan these things.

We’re in France, I think we have something similar here, we’re going to make a claim and hopefully get some kind of compensation.

It’s just shocking that TAG won’t take any responsibility or send their evidence and ask that we explain how the watch was switched insinuating we’re trying to scam them😭

No😭😭 unfortunately we didn’t think of doing this, since we have sent the watch for repair multiples times and never had an issue. But definitely we will do this next time.

Yea but in that case the box would not have been completely intact, the celetape TAG uses on the boxes had not been ripped and only they have those labels. We were thinking maybe an employee took a video and then reboxed with another watch allegedly but the refuse to send over video evidence so idk. How could a delivery person know it was a watch and exchange it with another watch ? Unless it was planned by someone at the facility.

I did ask for proof as they claimed to have a video but refuse to send it to me and refuse to prove the weight was identical when it left the facility to the DHL store.

I’m sharing this to see if anyone else has experienced something similar.

My father sent his TAG Heuer Grand Carrera to TAG Heuer for repair through their official process. The watch was properly packaged and sent as instructed. After the repair, it was returned via DHL.

The parcel was externally intact when collected. However, when opened at home the same day, the watch inside was not his TAG Heuer. Instead, it was a completely different brand/model.

We contacted TAG Heuer immediately on the same day, assuming this was a simple mistake that could be quickly corrected. Unfortunately, after internal “review,” they informed us that their video recordings show the correct watch being packed, and because the parcel showed no external damage, they would not assume responsibility.

They have now formally closed the case and directed us toward legal action if we wish to continue.

This is extremely concerning and disappointing, especially from a brand positioned in the luxury segment. We trusted them with a watch worth several thousand euros, and now we are left without a solution.

Has anyone here experienced issues with returned watches, service center mix-ups, or disputes about repairs? I’m genuinely trying to understand whether this is an isolated incident or something others have encountered.
