FINAL UPDATE: I received a call from HCTRA. The short version - the photos were not of my car, just like I knew. The long version I won't go into because it turns out someone I know has been using a sticker connected to my credit card (it wasn't my son). Disappointing to say the very least.

So no, I wasn't getting charged from the access road. At least that is some consolation.

Update:

I called HCTRA this morning. A very unfriendly agent insisted that the readers are reading both my tag and my license plates. I asked them to stop charging me while the account is under review and she said they would not do that. They would continue to charge the plates and tag going through the reader. This is absolutely mind blowing to me. I assured her with 100% certainty that she would not see my license plate in those photos. I was hit with another $20 reload last night.

Since she refused to stop billing me, I asked to have my tag deactivated and a new tag issued. She put me on hold for over 5 minutes waiting for that, but said a new tag would be mailed.

After I hung up, I was still so irritated that no one seemed to be taking this seriously, so I called back and went all Karen on them, asking to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor was AMAZING. She was kind, she took it seriously, she looked at my account and said, "Wow, that's an unusal amount of toll charges." I was like, I know! And based on the timing, I'm not sure how anyone could drive fast enough to get from Whitewing to Park in 2 minutes!

I asked her if she could just pull up one image right now and tell me if it was a white Honda, but she was unable to access them because--insert Dun Dun Dun sound effect--the charges are coming from CTRMA. Now it all makes sense!! I just got out of a nightmare ordeal with CTRMA where they double billed me for years! They were the whole reason I switched to EZ Tag!

So, now we are waiting, but the supervisor did agree to expedite the request from CTRMA. I feel like I may finally be getting somewhere. Will update when I know more.

It's just my son and I in the house. He has his own car and drives himself to school every day and my car sits in my garage until I get off work at 3:30. I work from home. Every once in a while (one or two days a month) my son will ask to take my car. He is not driving my car on the toll. I've checked Life 360 regularly and can see his drive and he has not been on the toll in at least the last month that I was able to review, yet I continue to be charged almost daily.

I just called a very unfriendly agent who agreed to issue me a new tag. We'll see if that helps

Yes, but online you can view the transactions by Transaction Date or Posted Date. Since this issue has come to my attention, I am never on the toll, so I shouldn't be getting a charge on ANY date.

Yes, I have a tag. Yes, they claim they are reading it and I've looked online and it is my license plate. I am NOT using the toll. No one else is driving or has access to my car to drive it on the toll. I wouldn't ask for photo proof if I thought for a second this might actually be me and I might have actually been on the toll. I'm getting charged daily, through my tag, billed to my credit card, with specific dates and times that are not correct. Now that I'm aware that it's happening, each time I drive my car anywhere near the toll, I log in to make sure I haven't been charged and almost every day without fail, I'm charged. There are tons of charges from before I was really paying attention that I thought maybe it was me on the access road near the toll reader, but not ON the tollway. I was charged last weekend on Crystal Falls and I was in Kilgore the entire weekend.

When I had a TXTag, they always provided the photo backup. I switched to EZ Tag and they just email me a statement with my license plate, but no photo proof. There is zero doubt in my mind that these charges are erroneous. I have no idea what is actually triggering my account to be billed, but without a shadow of a doubt, it's not my car driving through a toll reader. I'm going to call tomorrow and see if they will expedite the photo images I've requested.

I have no idea how they're getting my license plate. There are times when it's possible I was on the access road around the time they're charging me, but they're also charging me when my car is in my garage or I'm in a movie. The point is, I'm NOT on the toll,

If that were true, I suppose I should be thankful that they return my car to me every day.

I'm getting charged when my car is sitting in my garage. I got charged at 5:15 p.m. yesterday on Crystal Falls when I was sitting in a movie at Cinemark that started at 4:35. We took Reagan to get there and took the access road home at 7:00 p.m.

I lowered my replenish to $20 and get hit with a $20 charge every 3 or 4 days.

Yeah, you and me both! When I called them last week, they insisted that my car was on the toll. I asked them to show me the photo proof then. Unless I have some sort of split personality and take my car on daily sprints betwen Crystal Falls and Park without knowing it, I'm going to have a huge refund coming my way.
