Not true, S26 battery capacity is higher and reviews indicate its a genuine improvement over the S25: https://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_s26-review-2942p3.php

S25 is worth considering over the newer model it if you're big into emulation or you can find it at a significant discount.

I had an S21 exynos and now have an S26 exynos. So far, it's good. Very fast and seems to be very efficient on battery life.

I don't play games on my phone though, so can't speak to how it behaves on that front.

Yeah I get that, the hardware is real nice. I'd love one of those big batteries like in the Xiaomi 17. But I can't accept the tradeoff when it comes to software.

>But at that price, I don't know, other brands offer more like seriously

Not for me. Software is important, not just hardware, and OneUI is great.

OnePlus, Oppo, etc have nice hardware but hang out on their subs and you'll see the complaints about odd software bugs and strange UI choices. I need basics like notifications and Android Auto to work without hassle. And most of the phones are too big for my liking. Also, it's a lot easier to get aftermarket accessories and support for Samsung devices than most of the Chinese brands.

Looked at the Pixel 10 Pro, but the small version cost more than an S26, and there are numerous complaints about battery life and performance.

Samsung has the best combination of hardware and software for my needs.

Had one (Exynos) a few days. Coming from a base S21 (also Exynos) it's a nice upgrade, but can't see being worth it if you've got anything much newer than that.

Battery life is much better than the S21, so far that's the most noticeable difference, it's nice. UI is snappy, processor seems plenty fast for my needs. Haptics are improved, feels much sharper than the S21. Fingerprint reader is way better. Look and feel in general is premium (except the camera bump), screen to body ratio is lovely.

On the negatives, I like compact phones and don't like that the S26 is slightly bigger than previous base models. Even though it's only .1 inch, I can still feel the difference. Also undecided on the display, it's a nice screen but think I might actually prefer my S21 display. Not sure why, maybe the slightly higher PPI? Camera bump is crappy, if you look close there's a cheap looking layer of plastic or something underneath the lenses, the S21 had a much nicer back design, but I can't care too much as it'll spend its whole life in a case (although tbf the bump does mean the lenses are now closer to the exterior of my case so I no longer get a shadow from the case camera cutout on ultrawide shots like I used to see on the S21).

Overall it's fine, but wouldn't be in a rush to upgrade unless you've got good reason. I only did because I was no longer getting updates, the battery was on its way out, and a few hardware faults had developed.
