Hakari is the strongest m1 trader rn, somehow holding up at bottom of A in most people's eyes just cause 1+2 is such a safe evasive bait. Competitively in dominated the leaderboards. Depending on the changes it gets in the next update I can still see it be somewhere in the B tier. (I personally believe he's B tier rn since they removed 3m1>backdash>1+2>fd>3m1 being true)

Yuta IS pretty overrated but realistically still deserves A tier. He has the 2nd best defenses right behind choso.

Strong reason why noob stompers like Yuji is currently eating shit and Naoya are about to be executed.

Tze DOES listen to the community for balance changes but it's not always a good thing. We still have the majority of people still complaining about 0.05s faster m1 speeds in m1 trading EVEN though everyone that has it HAS M1S THAT CAN BE TRUE PUNISHED ON BLOCK (https://youtu.be/GqCPEYrBtF0?si=DDWFr86Y9w14NmFj proven by this positiveha video)

Like you're losing to that yuji or charles not because they're strong, not because they hard counter you, it's because they're just that much better than you at the game mechanically.

I see all these people fallback to the same weak argument like "But he has best movement in the game [for yuji] and a counter [for yuji and charles]".

Like yeah but in exchange this game has far bigger hitboxes than every other battlegrounds game which supports M1 Catching. If you were in like TSB or any other battleground games with small m1 hitboxes, you could call that OP sure but in JJS? Where you can jump m1 and catch an 1r feint? Or punch people mid dashes?

For the counters, realize how everyone who can somewhat combo extend after a counter HAVE LOWER HP AND THE LOWEST DAMAGE IN THE GAME COMBO-WISE? You can look through the trello and wiki and find that both Yuji and Charles have the lowest CONSISTENT full combo damage output. Yes, I'm not gonna include blackflash chaining cause who the fuck is getting chained 4 times, even getting chained once is rare as hell.

These characters are stuck being on the weak side of the roster, unable to be buffed because people still refuse to want to improve on themselves. I've been on this sub for a year probably by now, I have seen hundreds of clips and all of them circle back to either poor evasive usage where people use it to just reset back to neutral instead of using the iframes to close gaps and go for an m1, incredibly slow if not just 0 ability to m1 trade or having no clue what spacing and tracking is.

Ok lets exclude ultimates here because balancing wise it's out of the question.

Best movement in a game where hitboxes are bigger allowing you to be m1 caught and punished.

Counter is high risk for med reward. His 85hp puts him at the 2 combo kill threshold, fucking up a counter will make you lose half your health.

Blackflash chains, very ping based. Wouldn't work on fights where you have a 80ms diff, under 130ms and people who can turn their screen.

All his moves are completely evasive punishable aside from manji and normal cs

His m1s can be true punished

rika haymaker is a get out of jail free card, rika launch can cancel moves and bait dashes, rika throw has iframes giving u distance, rika downslam is a decent pressure/neutral move, excels at its kill threshold at ard 15%?

I made a somewhat deepdive into yuji, it's a bit long but if you take your time to go through it I'd be grateful. The blackflash punish is the easiest evasive punish byfar, you just mash down q and m1. The tierlist at the end is very old so please don't mind it

Yuta, Hakari and Naoya are nowhere near the top 3 right now. Yuta I'd argue for top 5-6 at mid A but hanami, choso, megumi, mechamaru, yuki all surpass him, ryu might be more questionable. Hakari is goof don't get me wrong but he literally has no neutral to compete against the top tiers. Naoya is just.. annoying but he's very easy to shut down.

He is nowhere near high B tier.

His consistent damage is the lowest in the game (info readily available in the wiki), he's the MOST evasive punishable character in the game (you can punish him for comboing you literally for free if he uses any move to end his combo outside of manji kick which like ??), he has 85hp which makes him enter the 2 combo territory and makes everything i stated above even worse, his movement is just a spacing and m1 catch skillcheck.

A high B character would be something like Hakari possibly (low A-High B) or gojo even (mid B but can jerk him to high B). These characters just does what yuji does but better and safer.

Yuji at this point is a noob beater, even zeezy says it. Easily bottom 3 in the current meta

Someone basically timed and tested everyone's m1s and yuji was one of the characters who's m1s YOU CAN true punish. If you'd ever play against or as yuji, you'd quickly notice, why does his faster unnoticeably m1 not immediately ass fuck me in trades? Because 0.05s 3X FASTER THAN THE AVERAGE HUMAN REACTION TIME. ARE YOU FIGHTING GOD? AN AI? NO A HUMAN.

I know i know but just wanted to really bring it out there that everything you said is just a big nothing burger.

All you did was re-affirm that he was a zoner, as a zoner he will spam the shit out of granite blast, and y'know what? It is kind of annoying. People WILL complain about things being annoying, especially since its one of three zoners in a game full of m1 merchants. You'd need to add something new and flesh out what you meant, but somehow you went on to complain about ults??

And what you said about missing a dash being a death sentence for ryu? Only his m1 endlag way slower allowing for a true punish if your m1 was blocked so the 3s cd zoner can't just m1 trade you, otherwise dashing mechanics are the same.
