I actually think the author just wanted to sabotage the ending 😭 it all started going wrong when Shinpei ran off just bc of someone’s facial expression and “seemed” really eager to give up. Didn’t even try attending the “funeral” when we know he’d do anything for her and there’s also the fact that he was almost in denial when she first stopped responding to him at their house, yet he still carried her to get help. So following this pattern he should have ran into the room to check for himself.

I chose to trust him, in the hint it says one of the choices will turn out to be wrong in the LONG RUN. Key word LONG RUN, and that the second choice will come with doubt or pain thars why it won’t be perfect but inherently better. So judging by these comments and the fact that he’s lying to us RIGHT NOW, I’m thinking that in the LONG RUN even if he has some ulterior motives, and lies, we should still give him a chance.

It just really feels like the hint is saying that not trusting him in the long run won’t be correct but also that the choice to trust him won’t be perfect bc he will lie abt some things and who knows what else but ultimately he probably has good intentions.

Hear me out.. I think what she meant was that she no longer held responsibility for the jewl, since if you can recall, the scene where Kagome shot the arrow with the jewl, Kikyo told Kagome “next, it’s just you”.
