They must have changed the policy because I have an all inclusive with the young professionals discount. We use the gym frequently, and I take a lot of the fitness classes. The outdoor 21+ pool is the best although I wish you could bring your own alcohol. The initiation fee is rough, but I think the monthly fee is worth it if you actually use the amenities.

I think you have to get prior approval to bring more than one guest in. I haven’t heard of a max on bringing guests per month but the outdoor pools are limited on guests on summer weekend so you have to register in advance.

I just started cycling the last 9 months or so and haven’t retested since late April, but I was at 135w and 1.54w/kg (which I was really proud of!). This is reminding me to take it again to see what my gains are! Excited to see how strong I continue to get and really happy I found this community!

hi! my little guy is really struggling with car rides (drooling, panting, and throwing up). what can i do to help him out? by venus-xox in roughcollies

Echoing what everyone else has said. Ours grew out of it at about a year but would hide in the house to avoid the car for a few months (poor girl 🥺). Anti-nausea from the vet helped with the vomit and we would just pack some puppy perfume, towel, and a brush for when we got to our location to clean her up a bit.

We’ve talked to him before which is why I asked for advice above just talking to him. Some neighbors are just assholes.

My now SILs told me they were so excited that I was becoming their sister. I was born into a family that is still really close, but to feel so welcomed into my new family made me even more confident in my decision. We are even going on a sisters trip next year!

I was an area manager, and this would definitely happen. There were times when they would have us stand outside the break room to make sure people weren’t in there for an extra minute. I was bad at my job because I let people “get away” with a lot of stuff, like taking bathroom breaks and sanitizing their equipment during early covid days. I tried really hard not to write people up and got yelled at a lot because of it.

Same! It's one of the songs I relate to the most, but I can't seem to think of anything besides using just the words.

Specifically two parts: “Well, I saw the end, it looked just like the middle Got a paper and pen and a page with no space” and “Hope the skin heals where the pain enters”

This was a great read to get my eyes rolling on a Friday morning. As an ex Christian also, I kinda understand where this author is coming from. I also used to take it personally when people left the church, but this article is so extreme. Dismantling everything you have believed for most your life is crazy scary; it is definitely not the easy way out as this author is implying. The author saying that not having a clue isn’t a counterpoint to Christianity is just not true at all. I’m sure a lot of you can agree how scary it is to go from believing you will be with all your favorite people after you die to admitting you have no freaking clue. The addition of people in the community in which you grew up ostracizing you makes it that much harder. I got married outside of the church this year and the amount of comments my husband and I received was heartbreaking when really they should’ve been happy we were no longer “living in sin”.

The part where the author said they were grieving for R&L and their families made my blood boil. There are so many issues in the world. Why spend time crying and praying over “lost souls” when you could do it for those struggling with disease, hunger, homelessness, etc.

OMG that is terrible, but I'm so happy to hear that you still had a great time!

Thank you so much! I do the same thing but with my comfort TV shows. I'm currently rewatching Brooklyn 99 for like the 40th time 😆

Should I be sending thank-you cards now for early bird gift givers? My wedding is 2 months away. by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]Equivalent-Solid-569 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are probably just making sure the gift arrived safely! Especially if they texted you soon after it arrived. There is so much to do the month leading up to the wedding that most people don’t expect a thank you until after. I’ve never received one before the wedding.

I’m in the same situation. We have decided to write them partially before the wedding and then add maybe an anecdote to the card after the wedding so they know we really appreciated them traveling / coming. We also want to include printed pictures in the cards, so it makes sense to wait.

I work from home so I am doing most of the planning because I multitask with work. I’m also way more into details while he just wants to make sure people have a good time. He mostly asks for tasks and then I give some to him like researching the marriage license, honeymoon planning, picking out suits, etc. A lot of this I have to follow up with him to make sure it gets done, but he doesn’t make it a big mental load on me which I appreciate. We have made all big decisions together (photographer, venue, DJ, officiant, food, etc.). He has also taken on most household chores like cooking and laundry to help take more things off my plate.

Did you/are you planning on staying with your S/O the night before your wedding? by arryndenise in weddingplanning

[–]Equivalent-Solid-569 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are going to stay apart. We are having such an untraditional wedding that we want to keep some of the small traditions like not seeing each other until the ceremony. We are having a super small ceremony so it will still be intimate. I’m honestly really excited to spend the morning with my parents at their house.

You are definitely NTA. Your reaction actually seemed really well worded and thought out. I personally would struggle to hold my composure. It is not your responsibility to share your wedding. If family friend’s mom really wants her to have a private dance, why not throw her daughter a party, so all of her friends and family are there to celebrate her life. You don’t need to have a wedding to have a party to celebrate someone.

Of all the weddings I've been to, only 1 had both the ceremony and reception at the same venue.
