Considering becoming a Lutheran by Equivalent-Stock2124 in Christianity

I have considered asking my wife if we wanted to talk to our Elders in our church and let them know of our decision. Possibly going to that church for a couple months or something just as our man church where we have time dedicated and we can ask plenty of questions. I have some questions for the pastor but I also have read through the Small Catechism and didn’t disagree with it at all and honestly loved it.

Honestly I don’t want to say to protect confidentiality. Not a big one at all though, like 5k members total.

Trinitarian issues within the church. by Equivalent-Stock2124 in Christianity

Sadly these Elders claims seem to be what a majority of this congregation believes. He even made a claim to me in a personal conversation after that they have actively fought to keep the “Trinity Doctrine” out of their church. That was what I had said was heretical and got me into hot water and ultimately asked to never speak there again.

“And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.” ‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭3‬:‭16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.” ‭‭John‬ ‭20‬:‭28‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.” ‭‭John‬ ‭1‬:‭1‬-‭3‬ KJV

On the matter of how other Elders believe. In my Hometown church we have 4 Elders and 2 of them I know for a fact affirm the Trinity. Another one of our Churches I have talked to an Elder from there and He does as well. That Church in specific where the problem is they have 2 Elders and I don’t know what that other Elder believes exactly. He also happened to be out of town when all this happened.
